Chad ford mock draft #3

His name is dragan bender.

Hahaha his name alone should be top 2.

I think some foreign player.

Knowing the Sixers, they will take a big to keep their terrible goal of starting 5 centers going. Skal to Philly lol.

The problem with saying Skal doesn't belong top 20 (or pick a number) is that you need to find 19 better prospects. Easier said than done.

When skal is really turned on and playing, I don't think there nobody in the country better than him..anybody could probably make a case for Simmons, but is he that good or is his numbers just look good from playing on a bad team...

Probably make a "case" for Simmons over Skal? Not that hard....Bad team or not, he is averaging 18 points 15 rebounds 6 assists

Surely you are not comparing Skal to Simmons. Simmons is an amazing talent. He is a talent that NBA execs dream about. Maybe the best prospect since Lebron.

Any UK fans that still doubt that the NBA drafts on potential over performance should have those doubts dispelled by the current mock drafts. The guy who's been our worst starter, Skal, is still projected as a top 5 pick. Meanwhile the guy who's probably been our best overall player, Tyler Ulis, is nowhere to be found.

Size matters....

What has he done to justify this? Being honest. Playing against 6-5 guys in exhibitions?

Ulis is shooting 34% from the field and 28% from three. With his size he needs to prove he can shoot well.

He's experiencing what happened to Travis Ford in 94. The year with Mash, he shot over 50% from the field (and in threes) and the following, with a weak front line, his % dropped to 39

Anthony Davis is the best prospect since Lebron. Not even close. We'll see how Simmons works out at the next level.

Exactly. There was also a pretty good pick by the name of Kevin Durant.

Fact is, there has been a flood of talent into the NBA since Lebron came along. Ben Simmons is another good one, but he will have some work to do just to become an All Star, let alone become the best since Lebron.

I agree, Davis and Durant are both very very good. I may have overstated Simmons abilities but he is a certainly a future franchise player

How do some of you idiots STILL not understand the NBA Draft?

As for the best "prospect" since LeBron that could have been Greg Oden, remember how he was suppose to be the best big man since Shaq? Potential and putting it together to be a good pro player is something else. Putting it all together and being a superstar like LeBron is something totally different in itself. Simmons will be the top pick, but to say he will be the next LeBron is a little early. Skal will be a lottery pick regardless, because the NBA swings for homeruns.

Simmons hasn't done anything to prove he's not the next Michael Beasley. Not saying he's going to be, but Beasley put up big numbers with comparable skills/body type in college. He needs to find a jumper badly.

I hope Tyler never shows up in any mock drafts....i want him to be UK point guard for life

I'm not debating who is better at all, I'm just saying that when it comes to potential in the nba I would not be surprised to see skal become the more long term prospect, especially if his defense catches up to his offensive skills...I know Simmons has better numbers right now, but would he average that playing for UK, duke or other top talented teams..the nba drafts on just more than numbers...think about it, would you rather have a kid from LSU or Kentucky??

Beaseley's problem was that he was a lazy pothead. When he actually tried it was obvious he could be great. Simmons has no known off the court issues.

No, but people who watch him know he's special. Not being a consistent triple double threat doesn't change that. He'd easily be our best player, and there is a legit chance he'd be leading us in points, rebounds, and assists.
