CBS Sports Top 100 (and one) College Basketball Players for 2015-16

It's "Best College Players", which adds some degree of a subjectively contextual dynamic to the equation.

It's the same aspect that convinces Louisville fans that Peyton Siva was a better college basketball player than John Wall.

I've never pretended to understand it.

On the pro circuit, Murray is a better player, but Wiltjer is a very very good college player. Nothing wrong with that. I'd love to have him on this team. He's a matchup problem and with our length and athleticism, wouldn't have been as big a defensive liability as in his two years here.

Ulis outside the top 10, and as low as 33, is the joke of that list for me. He was the best point guard on the best team last season imo and he's going to be a post season All-American and in contention for the nation's best point guard.

I understand Poythress' ranking given the injury. I expect that may improve by dozens of spots by years end.

Ulis is without a doubt going to be top 5 player in NCAA. No way in hell there's going to be 32 better college players.

Hield is overrated too. He's a very good player no doubt, but not top 3.
Agreed. He's a poor man's Kalenna Azubuike. Or a homeless Man's Jodie Meeks. He is a good shooting guard, but not elite.

And I really don't get Kris Dunn anywhere in the top-10. Or Perry Ellis at #19? (Bwahahahahahahaha, that was a funny joke).

If I was doing a top-10 it would probably have Simmons, Skal, and Niang in the top-3 in some order. Wiltjer, Murray, Trimble, and Brogdon next. And then 3 out of Valentine, Poeltl, Paige, Lavert, Baker or Vanvleet, and Kyle Collinsworth (5 triple doubles last season).

My darkhorse player for the top-10 is Alonzo Trier. He looked fantastic in each of the all-star games last year.

SEC players:

2. BEN SIMMONS, LSU TIGERS
5. JAMAL MURRAY, KENTUCKY WILDCATS
6. SKAL LABISSIERE, KENTUCKY WILDCATS
28. DAMIAN JONES, Vanderbilt
33. TYLER ULIS, Kentucky
42. MALIK NEWMAN, Mississippi State
45. STEFAN MOODY, Ole Miss
70. DORIAN FINNEY-SMITH, Florida
87. ALEX POYTHRESS, Kentucky
91. TIM QUARTERMAN, LSU

So UK will have three to four players, depending on Skal' situation, in the top 100. That's actually pretty good however I think Briscoe and Lee should be in the top 100 as well.

If it weren't for such a rare overall talent like Simmons, I really believe we would have had a chance of Finishing the season with the two best players in the country with SKAL and Murray. With that said, I guess I won't be complaining too much if we end up with #1 and #3. Not too shabby. If Briscoe ain't on this list, someone def made a mistake. I don't think he will be as good as Ulis and Murray, but he's going to be very good. Def a top 100 player in the country.

With Lee, I guess I could see why they don't have him in their top 100. Let's face it. So far the kid is basically a guy that can score on lobs and put backs. He needs to show a lil better faceup game and it wouldn't hurt his stock if he would developed a post move or 2. We all believe in the kid, but until he shows the rest of the nation improvement, he's not going to make many preseason lists. I would settle for most improved and be happy.
