CBS Sports Preason Rankings 1-128

What it means is lazy work on CBS part. LA LAF beat noone last season and lost quite a bit of their roster.
UK by some is picked to be one of the most improved teams in SEC as well as a 15 point favorite against LA LAF 9/5
Are they really that stupid? I mean, come on, ranking us below 40 is ridiculous. Ranking us below ULL is idiotic.

We have to prove it on the field. Right now WKU is a better program than us with multiple bowl appearances and a 6th year senior at qb. What conference you are in certainly didn't mean squat the last 2 times we played them and our opinions of improvement didn't matter in the blowout losses to conference foes that mounted up towards the end of last season last year. UL Lafayette has had 3 straight 9 win seasons, when was the last time we even sniffed a 9 win season? None of the hype and prognostication matters from either end till we prove it on the field. When we go out there and do that, then these will change. I don't get the idea by our fans that our football program is somehow a major power and should always ranked in the upper half of college teams no matter what when we haven't done squat in 30 years. Lets face it, during that time frame we have been one of the WORST college football programs in the nation, no better than teams like Vandy or Iowa St. except for about 5 seasons in that time frame where we were slightly above mediocre. Why should this year be any different from an outsider's point of view from the last 30 or so? No need in complaining about what the media thinks, hopefully our team uses this as motivation and lets the scoreboard do the talking. I'm getting tired of "talking season" can't wait for these guys to line up and play.
I think cbs should just stick to the NFL. They clearly don't know anything about college football. Too bad they don't make the spreads because they would make ULL the favorite and I would put a bunch of money on UK to win and thus make a lot of money.
Throughout the off season I have seen people post other ranking sources on here and most have UK ranked in the top 50 and ULL closer to 100.

When is the last time we played in the Sun Belt or other low conference? When is the last time that ULL beat a Power 5 school worth a crap? We have to prove it on the field, but ULL is nothing close to a 9 win team other than in the pitiful conference with the pitiful schedule they have. Everytime they play a big boy team they get blasted...PERIOD.
This post insults not only us fans but our school as well. You just be a UL troll.
Stick any of those teams on our schedule and you would be saying they would be a top 120 team. It's not about wins and losses but who is a better team. If you take a 10 win Div II team they will be blasted by last years Vandy team which sucked. Of course you would say they are better because they won more games.
If WKU played us last year we would have beaten them and more than likely Louisiana Lafeyette as well. Because they play in a piss poor conference and was one of the better of the group does not mean they could hang with major conference schools every weekend.
When Wky beat us in Stoops first year their was talk of them beating UT because well they sucked too. Well UT beat their ass fairly easily and UT had a terrible year that year.
WKU = Apple to Our Orange; they need to GTHO out of the Sun Belt and give up playing in the Sani-Flush Bowl before they start preening over UK, even if they did manage to best us when we were basically bankrupt as a program. I offer my them congratulations again on that great feat!
Let's hope that holds true this year. When western throttled us a few years back, they got stomped by ULL a few games later. ULL is a competitive team with a great coach, handling them will go a long way in proving that we actually have improved, imo

The difference between the 2013 and 2015 are so far apart it's a joke to even bring that up. We'd beat the 2013 team by 4 TDs...easily.
Part of its the anti-SEC backlash. People from other conferences complain about SEC bias so much that some media outlets go out of their way to try not to appear pro-SEC.
Call it trolling if you like, that is what someone does when they are presented with an inconvenient truth. western would have most likely smoked us last year too considering our defense was horrific. The only thing I keep hearing is that well "they don't play in the sec". Here is my response, who cares. As a lifelong UK fan i'm sick of that tired excuse as to why our program can never rise up. The sec is with out a doubt a tough conference year in and year out, but us not being competitive in conference play for over 30 years, there is no excuse for that. and if you take it as an insult to the University of Kentucky, I mean to insult them for their poor support of the football program over that time frame. If we had more fans that called it like they saw it, our administration would have been forced to make the changes they are making now long ago.
Who are the experts here on ULL? Who has spent time researching their team, their new starters, and their program? The cockiness in this thread reminds me of bad experiences from the past.

I suppose you think that Georgia Southern is a better program than Florida? They did beat Florida after all.
I'm no expert on them but they haven't beaten a decent P5 team in years and they lose nearly all of their important guys from last year. RB is the one area where they have returning talent, so it will be a good test for the front 7 to see if they have improved over last year. With it being the first game in a newly renovated stadium, I fully expect our guys to be absolutely psyched to hit someone and get a win in their first game. Now if this was 2013 I would probably be a bit more worried. But it's not.
Last year they had losses to La Tech (-28pts), Ole Miss (-41), Boise St (-25) and App St (-19).
Common opponent with UK ( La Monroe) was a 7 point win...UK had a 34 pt win over ULM.
Lose their starting QB (who was also 3rd leading rusher), top WR (yards and targets), 2nd RB (most attempts), 2 OL starters...from defense they lose 2 starting DL, 2 starting LBs, 2 starting CBs, starting safety, DC , punter and kicker. Now, I am not a fan that believes starters usually get replaced by better players (check the card board for that)...
They will be well coached...but we should really beat them with ease.
Western might, might have been able to beat us last year, but they certainly not have "most likely smoked us".
Here's why actually did smoke us last year: LSU, Georgia, and Tennessee. Each team, considerably better than Western.
Here's who didn't, even though they did win: Florida, Mississippi State, Louisville, Missouri. Each team, considerably better than Western.
We beat South Carolina, also a better team than Western.
I'm having a hard time envisioning how Western smokes the 2014 Wildcats. They only beat a pair of horrible 2-10 UK teams in 12 and 13 by a combined 11 points.
On Florida's field I might add, and only a year or two after moving up from fcs, when we coukdnt do it for 28 years, home or away. Not too many excuses you can make for that besides horrible talent, coaching, and more than anything, administration. Loss after loss, year after year the excuses keep rolling in and some people are dumb enough to buy them. At this point for me all the talk means nothing, gotta see it.
How bout you come back in month or so and let us know if you see it or not...as you said, at this point talk means nothing.
So we will be the underdog in the first game? Don't think so, but I hope so. I will bet the farm.
