I'm really looking forward to this. I hope they get the sweep. I just get the feeling that this team is taking on a persona of not giving an inch.

Not starting out well, walk, stolen base, one fly out, then a hard shot that isn't handled. Runners at 1st and 3rd and we have Belanger already out to talk to Lewis.

Clean single... Vandy scores first and still a big threat with runners on 1st and 2nd one out. Seems like a nervous start for Lewis.

Uk gets out of a bases-loaded situation in the second as Lewis strikes out Infante. Maybe that will be the thing that gets him back in control. Bottom of 2nd. Looks like are going to have trouble getting to Fellows.

Squires tries to take an extra base and gets thrown out. 2 down now with a runner at 2nd instead of two on with one out.

Lewis walks the first batter in the 3rd. He just may be close to being done. That would be bad news for Kentucky.

Update: bad base running by Vandy costs them the runner as Toffee gets caught trying to steal 2nd. Lewis then gets Hayes to strike out.

Two more runners left on base for Vandy in the 4th. That makes 7 so far. Lewis may be doing a rope-a-dope. As long as they continue not to score, I'm ok with it.

Lewis makes it through another inning stranding another runner. That makes 8 which may end up being the story. Vandy has left a lot of runs on the base paths. And now Lewis seems to be figuring out how to make it work even though he doesn't have great command today.

Evan White gets a two out triple for the first hit from the top four in the lineup.

Lewis has had a pretty awful day. Walks the lead-off batter in every inning but one, and now Vandy has tied it 2-2 in the 6th. Runners on the corner and no one out. Ugh.

We leave the bases loaded in the bottom of the 6th. We've now tied Vandy in runners left on base.

Damn... I turn the game on and Vandy hits the two run shot. Bats need to wake up.

Vandy up 6-4, bottom of the 9th two outs, Mahan pops up to end it. Main thing I didn't like was leaving bases loaded twice and now going on the road for a long time.

Didn't get the timely hit today, we have done it so many times this season. Still, a game we could have won.
However, we did win the series vs Vandy and we are still 7-2 in the SEC.

One thing that stood out today was Lewis didn't have his best stuff but he competed and battled and kept us in the game. Missed on a few opportunities offensively but you can't question their effort or their approach to playing the game.

Disappointing Sunday game, but the name of the game is winning weekend series in the SEC so it was still a successful week.

I was really disappointed in Lewis, he has looked so good this year and had only walked 7-8 batters the entire season prior to Sunday. Can't fault a guy for a single "off" game, but was hoping that we could overcome it.

He wasn't as sharp as his previous outings, but he wasn't the losing pitcher. Cats left the bases loaded on 2 occasions, and a timely hit here or there would have been a winner !

True, but in fairness, Vandy also left a ton of runners stranded. We were extremely fortunate to be in the game at all.
