UK looks to win the series today @ 1:00 pm. Will Cats send out Kyle Cody or save him for Tuesday ? A win today gives the Cats a 15-15 Sec record. Still need a win or 2 in the Sec tournament IMO.

The way the Cats have been playing lately, I'm not sure it matters much whether they go on from here. Their SEC record of 15-15 or 14-16 spells "run of the mill". Not much interest for me right now. They should be better than they've been the last few weeks. Seems to me the softball team has more spirit than the baseballers.

0-0 after 1 inning, UK gets the first 2 batters on, but can't get a run in. The game was supposed to be on the Sec network + video, anyone getting it. I cannot find it.

Missouri up 1-0 after 2 huge errors. Pompey drops a routine fly ball that would have been the 3rd out. Then Mahan makes yet another error. Cody up to 50 pitches thru 3 innings, should have been out of the inning 10 minutes earlier !:weary:

Going 15-15 in the Sec is certainly better than going .500 in the Big 10, Big 12, Conference USA, Pac 12 etc. This is going .500 in the best baseball conference in the country.
Also winning 6 of 10 series in that best conference also says a lot. I don't know if this is enough to make the NCAA show or not, guess we will see.

What's keeping them from being a lock? Losing series against the two worst teams in the conference and one of them being Arkansas which has lost 12 straight games and 13 of its last 15...still think they will have to win at least two games in tourney to get in

May well need to win 2, right now Bama is losing to USC 8-6 in the bottom of the 8th, if the Cocks hang on Cats become the # 8 seed in the SEC tourney. They will still play Alabama on Tuesday, if they win, that would probably put UK in because the SEC will get 8, maybe 9 NCAA bids.
Remember the SEC has 7 teams in the top 10 in the rankings, unheard of these days. Win 2 and they should no doubt get in.

Final score South Car. 9 Alabama 7. That gives UK the # 8 seed by virtue of winning the head to head with the Tide. All that really means however, is the Cats will be the home team on the scoreboard, and wear the home White unis.

Think I heard Neil Price say today they will play at 5:30 on Friday

Mississippi State beats Arkansas 9-4 and with A&M losing to Ole Miss, wins the SEC regular season title after finishing dead last in 2015.

This is what I said in a thread a few weeks ago - they always seem to lose series v. the conference dregs(Auburn, Arkansas), while winning a couple v. the upper echelon(UF, South Carolina). Has been a recurring pattern under Henderson.
