Keldon Johnson is the 5 star recruit, btw. Wish OP would give a summary with his great info.
Could be using him as leverage with Barrett but I couldn't possibly think Barret would be affected by whatever this guy does.
He has been offerred a scholly, per KSR. This could be interpreted a number of ways, but it's a numbers game so glad to have him in the fold.

I take it as we are not going to wait around on all primary targets & take a chance. I know there's usually 2-3 special players in a class but there's not a huge difference on most of these 5 stars.

It's amazing how this listed 6'5" guard grew an inch when he stepped on campus, he is listed at 6'6" today! LOL YaySports it's a good thing he is the second rated shooting guard in the 2018 class!

Think this means SGA is better than Cal expected.
Also, he's the number 12 ranked player in the class. If you have to have a fall back option, that's a pretty good one.

Gonna guess it has more to do with Cal not being overly impressed with King and cooling on Langford.
Very good point. Lots of rumblings that SGA could be pushing for a starting spot. Would have to think if he does, that it would that tallest starting line-up since the Monsters from 14-15 team, possibly taller.
Gotta salute the kid to make a surprise unofficial visit to UK and getting an offer. Some kids want to be at UK.
At the same stage he's very Steph Curry like. Not extremely athletic, neither was Steph, but scores in multiple ways. Shoots the 3 with ease, mid-range is great, & he has a knack of scoring in the lane.

Don't know anything about him, but just watched some clips and only saw one jumper. Seems like he prefers driving to the hole. And he does well in transition. Cal type player.
Cats have been out of Langford for a while now. This is probably because Cal doesn't want to miss on both Reddish and Barrett and be stuck. Doubtful anyone can pull both guys. I think Reddish goes to Duke and UK hopefully gets RJ
I have pretty much accepted that Duke is going to get one of these guys, just hope we get the other one.
UK likely returns two guys from the Gabriel/Knox/Diallo/Washington/Vanderbilt mix.
My guess is it will be Washington/Vanderbilt who return. Bring them back, along with SKJ, Alexander, Green, and Baker. Then add Johnson or Reddish, Barrett, Quickly, Williamson, and a big.

Don't give up on Reddish just yet. All you have to do is remember when everyone was picking Knox to Duke. Trust in Cal you all know what he is capable of doing when it comes to recruiting.
It makes me pretty nervous about being able to get both Barrett and Williamson.
Barrett is a college 3 and Williamson is a college 4. This isn't 1988.
That people jump to conclusions and make rash decisions on most current news.
They could play those positions, but everyone wants to play down a position. 2s want to be 1s, 3s want to be 2s, 4s want to be 3s, 5s want to be 4s.
I'd be shocked if Zion had any interest in playing PF.
Because I'd say he expected him to be a multi year guy and play the wing for us next season, meaning there would be no need for anyone beyond Barrett.
If SGA goes, that opens up a spot.
He's been begging for an offer pretty publicly. Not exactly rash to switch your crystal ball to UK now that we've reached out.

Would like to get him on campus for Madness along with Garland, Williamson, Barrett, Pooptu, Bol, and a return unofficial for Quickley.
Positionless basketball. Cal wants three large SFs out there all the time anyway, he'll sell him on being able to showcase that game.
People worrying because we offered a five-star. These are truly strange times.
