Cats #8 in RPI with 9th toughest schedule

We are not a top 10 team right now, but I think we will be by season's end. The team has a lot of work to do to get to that level, but they are improving.
Maybe so, but the selection committee doesn't value either of those. They use the RPI, even if it has flaws.
Nova and Xavier at the top. Wow.
They will be high seeds and bow out early, IMHO.
The Big East is no longer a power conference. People should quit treating them like a super conference. It's a high mid-major now.
Exhibit A- Nova 2015. 1 seed and early exit. Ridiculous. The computer rankings are flawed. No way Nova should have gotten a 1 seed over Zona. Anyone who knows anything about the game knew that Zona was better, by a lot.
Argue if you want, but you can't change my mind on this one.
If Nova gets a 1 seed, which they probably will because of the hype, they likely suffer the same fate as last year. They will be lucky to get to the Sweet Sixteen.

Those four are above the rest of the pack right now, but not way ahead. Those would be my 1 seeds if the tourney started today.
And Kenpom is the absolute worst. RPI is what matters no of the others do .
WE aren't a great team but even still we are one of the top 10ish teams. Game is just down this season. UNC is the best team with Oklahoma , KU and Mich st right there but after that UK is as good as anyone.
So based on your logic we should give teams 1 seeds with weaker resumes? Nova's trumped Arizona's by far. You are Monday Morning QB-ing this as you did in March and have since the tournament ended the way it did. I guess we should have let OSU in the playoff this year too...they were clearly a top 4 (1 seed) team. The problem is they did not have a top 4 resume, and neither did Arizona in comparison to Nova, Duke and Wisconsin. See, that's the problem...based on resume two other teams had lower resumes than Nova. I agree with you that Arizona was a top 4 team...but they lost to 3 dog crap teams in the regular season. Nova had 2 losses in a stronger conference (based on the numbers and eye test nationally heading into the tourney). Not really hard to see why they were given the 1 seed over Arizona using only pre-tourney logic.
I don't really look at RPI as a "ranking" value. I do think it is a decent contributor potential seed, starting in late January. We really need to defend Rupp and do well on the road. A win in Kansas would be wonderful. We don't need to get blown out there or things could get ugly. Problem here is that Kansas as played as well as any team I've seen this year so far. We could probably eat another 2 - 3 on the road in the SEC and do ok seeding wise. At this point, I still feel pretty good about a 4 seed or better. I think a 2 - 3 seed is still quite within our grasp. We have to run the table for a 1 seed.
