Kentucky could well have 25 or even 26 NBA players on the roster on opening night next October. Most of them will be very young, and will be around for awhile.

I can't find this answer: Has any college ever had more players than that on the floor with NBA teams on opening night? The Cats must be getting very close to the record.

i don't know the answer to your questions.

but i bet Phoenix Suns and UK has to be the most players from one school on a team.

I would be surprised if anyone has ever had 25 players in the league at one time. Just as an example, that would require a team to put 3 players a year in the league and keep them there for an average of 8 years. Neither of those things happens very often. Look at Patrick Patterson. He's a nice player but may not stay in the league for 8 years.

Continuing this train of thought... The only college programs with a prayer of having 25 players in the league simultaneously are Duke and UNC. in the 15 year period 1995 to 2010, both programs regularly put an average of two in the league but it's nearly impossible for them to average 12 years in the league. In 2005 I believe, UNC had 4 or 5 players drafted in one year but many of them were gone quickly (Sean May). Players like Nazr , Prince and Walker are rarities. Think about Ron Mercer, a great College player drafted high who only lasted 8 or 9 years in the league. What UK is doing now is unprecedented in the history of the league which has only had 30+ teams for the past decade. I can remember when there were only 8 teams in the league then 10,16, 24, etc . No way one team had 25 players from one school with that few teams and 12 players on the roster

At the end of this past season I believe I counted 13-14 ex-UK player's actually on an NBA team's roster. Add 5 and you'd have 18-19. It is possible some of the other's on an NBA D league roster could get back to the league, but it's also possible some other's may not. I'd have to call 25-26 a wildly optimistic guess. When you look at the Sun's now with 4 guards from UK, Bledsoe, Knight, and a lottery pick Booker I'd have to think Goodwin will not be on their roster anyway come November.

Suggest you look into an NBA team called the Indianapolis Olympians.

You are wildly wrong about Goodwin. The Suns like him a lot, to the point where they've rejected trade offers involving him. There's no way they just cut him loose.
