Cal's teams never do defend the pick and pop/roll. What's new? This team cant defend the pick and roll/pop. What offense do we run, other than piss poor?
This is true what you said, but, this falls on Calipari. It is his job to coach these players up. He is doing all of this hollering and screaming but his in game coaching leaves a lot to be desired. I honestly believe these kids are confused as to what to do. He is recruiting all of these players and they come out every year the first few games setting the world on fire and then around the sixth or seventh game they start looking lethargic on offense and are out of position on defense. They make one mistake he yanks them out of the game and yells at them and then he sends another in and they make a mistake and then he yanks them out and here comes another and another. I got dizzy with all of that substituting back and forth and there was no flow. One time he did not have any shooters out there at all and all they were doing was dribbling around on the perimeter and throwing up bricks. Okay you are running the dribble drive but they are packing it in then you have to have a more organized offense to counter it. What are they doing in practice? Are they working on free throw shooting? All I am saying is this team has regressed the last 3 games and the other teams are beginning to gel and get better, even the teams who have freshmen like us. Poythress still has that deer in the headlights look to him. He is a senior and still not taking the leadership roll. This team looked terrible tonight and it falls on Calipari. I am glad Calipari is here and he is good for the program with his recruiting success and his marketing of the UK brand, but there are areas he can improve on as well this team did not look good at all tonight and Cal was outcoached to say the least. This team cant defend the pick and roll/pop. What offense do we run, other than piss poor?
