Canadian Olympic qualifying roster out. No Murray.

Hate to be selfish....but will be good for our team to get him integrated into the mix. Gonna be fun to watch for one season.

That's really a good thing ......we don't want him to get injured before he gets to wear the BIG BLUE. But sad for him.

Ah, no need in being sad. Triano said he was every bit as good as he needs to be to play for them, but they're not gonna ruin his eligibility. That's very telling, considering that there are currently 9 NBA players on the roster. We have an elite roster.
Murray wasn't the only one scorching professional players over the summer.

I wanted Murray to play because it means more Murray highlights. If I'm being truly truly honest, I wanted Murray on campus though. Him playing while others were getting into gear for the school year, could've been seen by others as him being bigger than the team. I'd rather him be here with Ulis, and having Ulis foster the relationship between Murray and Briscoe.

I do not think chemistry will be an issue on this team at all, we'll have outstanding chemistry, and I'm not worried or anxious about Murray and Briscoe together. I think it would be fair to say I have a slight concern though.

Ive said for awhile that I think it would be best, with the personel we have, for Briscoe to come off the bench as a super 6th man playing 25-28 minutes per game. It makes alot of sense even though some won't see it that way. Briscoe isn't a distributor type like Murray and Ulis. He is great in isolation, sick handles to take his man off the dribble and bully his way to the rim. That doesn't exactly fit with Murray and Ulis if they are all three out there at the same time. I picture the 1-2 as a rotation of those 3 specifically. Matthews and Mulder splitting time at the 3 (defense/offense). Then we have a 4 man frontcourt rotation of Labissiere, Poythress, Lee, and Humphries with Wynyard as your foul trouble/injury insurance.

I know many and probably the majority will not see it my way, and seriously, I trust Cal with whatever he decides to do with our personel. I just strongly believe Briscoe off the bench balances this team out perfectly. It may be a tough sell to Briscoe, but guess what? Cal won't have to sell it to him, his boy Ulis will make sure Briscoe realizes how valuable his role is to the team and to not look at not starting as a negative or a slight against his abilities.

I would love to see this play the DDMO offense, and use a lot of iso plays. All 3 of the guards have the ball handing ability to be dominant iso players (Ulis has lightning quick speed, Briscoe has a big body and tremendous strength, Murray has a lot of moves in his arsenal when he gets into the paint, and has a terrific change of speed). Also, one neat stat is that during the Pan Am games, Murray led all players in the Pan Am games in number of isolation plays per game, and also isolation shooting percentage (an other-worldly 86%, as charted by Synergy).
Plus, Poythress has always been able to dominate other 4's with his speed and athleticism, and Skal is a terror to defend with his athleticism, and skill from everywhere on the floor.
I'm very excited to watch this team.

Feel bad for the kid, but he'll have four or five more Canadian squads he can play for. Now it's time he gets situated in Lexington, and I'm glad it's moving in a decisive direction. I don't feel the least bit selfish. I'm a fan, not a humanitarian.

With Dante Exum tearing his ACL during Australians national team practice, I was nervous about Murray playing for the Canadian national team anyways
