Can we develop a traditional low post game?

I think if we can add a dependable traditional low post game over the next month we can take it to an even higher level. Karl, Willie, Dakari maybe even Marcus and Trey can get a few points off the block. Would be nice to pick up some easy baskets down low. They have all shown flashes.

I guess you're right why even practice? If you not getting better others are gaining.

good idea maybe we can become even more undefeated.
We will lose that undefeated in the tournament if our bigs do not improve some. Right now, different guards stand out every game but sometimes our bigs just can't seem to hit the 2 footers. They have improved their free throw shooting but even if that improves more, it makes us even tougher to beat.

Have our bigs regressed or are they in the process of improving by changing the way they play?

Call Cal and let him know. I bet he never thought of it.

Our bigs all put the ball in situations where it easily taken from them and they can be easily defended. I know not everyone can have the grace and touch of Cousins around the basket while still being such a force. The one move I can't understand none of our players having is the catch, hold the ball up and out away from the defense, power dribble back into the defender, and either finish with a spin to the bucket, or a little baby hook off the glass. That's big man 101, Karl especially should have a spin move.

I'm good with where we are right now since it's still January but there are 3 things I hope to see by March:
1) Dakari to stop getting stripped, blocked or missing 2 footers.
2) KAT to stop disappearing and start dominating the post
3) use our shooters more to open up the paint.

Right now defenses clog the paint and make it tough for our bigs and guards to operate. Aaron, Booker and Ulis only get a few shots a game right now and Booker has the ability to drop 30 on anyone but it seems our offense is solely concentrated on force feeding Dakari and it isn't working but Calipari is definitely doing it for a reason and I know it will pay off in the end.

Why didn't Cal hire you to replace Antigua? 8 turnovers and bigs get double teamed when they receive the ball in the post. Can't understad why so many on here think they know more than Cal and his staff

are you retarded? Where did I say the staff or Cal doesn't know what they're doing? I think Cal rips Karl especially out so fast because they want him doing things that I mentioned and he doesn't. Every time he puts the ball in the position to get stolen and does or gets swatted being soft, or shoots a fade away he immediately goes to the bench

Don't know who our big man coach is, but our bigs lack basic fundamentals in side. Great on defense, lousy on offense

Yes. It's why you see so few true, polished back-to-the-basket players these days, even in the NBA.

The adage used to be that big men made the leap their junior year. WCS has definitely made that leap, but it's been a leap that has more to do with his body and his maturity. His inside game is still behind.

It's just so difficult to play that way. You watch youth basketball players try to do it and even the most skilled ones can't. Turning your back on the goal--it's a perversion of how we're taught to play the game. It takes a kind of overhaul of everything from fundamentals to your mindset.

Our big men are still very young. Dakari for his flaws shows flashes of dominance. But he's still 19.

I agree with your point but should note there are times when we just don't pass the ball into the post it stays on the perimiter too much, I think Towns gives up when they start doing that.
