“Overall it was a lot of fun,” Reddish said of the World Cup. “Everybody’s out there competing, going 110 percent. Cal really pushed us to defend, rebound, things like that.”

“He and I obviously got closer,” Reddish said. “We got to talk a lot more about me specifically. I guess it helped him a little bit. I’m not gonna say I’m over the edge, but I guess so, yeah.”

If Cal feels like he's could be losing Zion, wouldn't be surprised to see him go on and offer King to go as a package with Reddish.

Personally (and going off just highlights/not seeing actual game footage), I feel like Cam Reddish will give you more all around than Williamson. Zion seems like an undersized power forward to me. His shot looks really bad and he while he scores most of his points in the paint, he rarely plays with his back to the basket. I've also heard that he plays against weak competition during his HS season.

With that said, I love watching him play and he's one of my top 3 most wanted players in the class. I'm more split on who I would want more between him and Reddish. My dream class would be:

Bagley
Williamson
Barrett
Reddish
Quickley
Bol

i'm am in agreement with you. watching some of zion's game from yesterday, that team he was playing against looked like kids at the Y. zion looks 6'6" and not very long. and i agree reddish seems to have more tools in his game to really play SF at the college level.

i think cal wants reddish more. will try to get king to be the guy to play multiple positions, then focus it all on reddish.

Reddish plays SG, Zion plays SF. It's obvious Cal has been selling Reddish on starting in the backcourt, and Reddish has the skills for it. In a positionless team concept, Reddish Williamson are the easiest players imaginable to play simultaneously.

What about Barrett?

What about Barrett?

Same thing. Unless we get Quickley, Reddish, Williamson, and Barrett, which is NOT gonna happen, but if it did, or they were open to the idea, you'd probably have to run Reddish as the primary sub for the 1-3 positions (still getting 30 minutes per game), and start Barrett at SG. At the college level, you might get away with running Zion at the 4, but I don't think that's the best use for him. He'll get less opportunity to use his natural gifts, and be expected to hold ground on rebounding and blocking against 6'10" guys. It's what Pitino is gearing up to do with Bowen, and I don't think it's wise.

Zion is a combo forward. He'll play the 3/4 in college and that's his best spot to flourish

I really think there is no chance in hell we get all three. Not happening. If so, I'll gladly eat crow. Same goes for the bol/bagley crowd.

It's not likely to happen, but as I mentioned:

G Quickley
G Reddish
G Barrett
F Williamson
F Bol

Cal said Reddish can guard the 1-4. He handles well enough to play the 1, but scores and shoots like a 2, with the size of a 3. The 2 spot is perfect for him.

Barrett is a slasher. Best suited at the 3, IMHO.

Williamson is good enough to play on the perimeter, but can score inside. At 6'7-6'8, he is big enough to play the 4 in college. In Cal's system, the 4 often spends more time on the perimeter than inside.

With Quickley being a pretty good sized PG, Cal can switch everything. Once they learn to commit on defense, those guys should be able to guard all over the floor, switching every screen like Cal teaches. Shouldn't have many mismatches on the defensive side of things. On offense, Williamson can take most PF's off the dribble. Reddish can use his size advantage at the 2.

No reason they can not play together. It's not likely to happen, but it would work and work quite well, IMHO.

Williamson is going to be a heck of a college player.

I never said he wouldn't be. Like I said, he's one of my favorite players in the class. Strong, fast athletic freak that plays very aggressively. I just think he may have some struggles.

He is a tweener and not really a small forward or power forward to me (plus only 6'6"). His form on his shot looks really bad (doesn't mean he can't shoot and I don't know his %s, but he does not look comfortable shooting outside of around 12-15 feet). I have never see him play with his back to the basket. Also, I've heard that he doesn't play great competition on a regular basis.

As I said, I really want him on our team next year. I agree with you that he will be a good college player, and he actually strikes me as a guy who may be better in college than the NBA. I was comparing him to Reddish who I believe has a more polished and better all around game. He doesn't have some of the physical attributes of Zion (tho he is a few inches taller), but he looks like a more natural small forward and like he may bring more to the table.

If that happens I'll streak the quad

Well in "positionless basketball" they just play ball, if were talking traditional positions, Zion Williamson has the skillset of a 4, Reddish a 3.
