Cal has been at Ky for several years. Seems to me he is much more demonstrative and pulls players with nearly every mistake early in the season. As the season progresses, the players learn how to stay on the floor - or don't play. We have seen many of our best players struggle early only to get much better late in the season. It is hard to play loose and fluid when you worry about mistakes, so I am not surprised with the UCLA loss given the number of quick substitutions by Cal. Is this part of Cal's yearly plan to yell and teach early in the season by subbing players with every mistake only to loosen the reins later in the season as the players learn? I am not a fan of his substitiution pattern exhibited is the UCLA game, but I can accept it as part of his overall ccoaching plan.
