Calipari scheduled to be on Colin Cowherd's show at 11:15 a.m.

Damn. Cal once again keeping UK in the news in June after Game 1 of the finals.

He doesnt even need the help of a huge academic scandal that has been doing on for 3 decades!!!

Man, Colin Cowherd is like school on Saturday ... no class.

I don't know about his morals or values but I find him to be extremely hard to listen to.

Cal admitted he didn't let KAT shoot 3s, so it was definitely about his future, not what KAT could do above everyone else while at UK.

Cal also called out the morons on this board who question his coaching ability. Paraphrasing but "The results of the 6 years speak for themself. If you are going to complain about my coaching, do it in public so you can be shown to be a moron." Or something along those lines. I thought about Dino Baby when I heard that, made me laugh.

Good for you, Cal. I'm more than happy with the Final Fours, the championship, the record against our chief rivals (7-1 against U of L and 4-2 against UNC), the number of players in the NBA, and most importantly the quality of the kids you are now bringing in to represent the university. I can take heartbreaking losses because I know that the best programs in every sport put themselves in that position more than anyone else.

I wish I could like your post three or fours times.....heck, maybe even five. :)

I agree about him letting KAT show his shooting touch, but he became pretty unstoppable in the paint. Pretty much an automatic two when we threw it down to him.

I love Cal and will never question his ability to Coach or his results, but like any HC at any level of you watch every game ( many times we watch games multiple times ), you are bound to question certain things that Coach does, and Cal not letting KAT shoot threes when he could've opened up the floor, is a perfect example of something that leaves you scratching your head.

UK had enough options on the floor at any given time to knock down plenty of threes so I get the point of having Towns stay around the post... but it still bugs the shit out of me to take away the strength of a guy like that when he's capable to spreading the floor as well as or better than a guy like Kaminsky and Cal just didn't let him do it. What happened to "being the best version of yourselves"? Well hell, one of Towns biggest strengths coming out of high school was his perimeter shooting ability.

It's akin to never letting John Wall drive to the basket or fast break and only take jumpers to improve his jump shot or something stupid like that.

Late response to you Jason, but this didn't make sense to me not allowing KAT outside the arc.........and going back to the start of the year, when everyone was slotting our guys in the lineup, I saw KAT being able to be a 3 simply for the fact of his outside perimeter game. It sounds crazy, but we had the biggest frontline in basketball. Others were supposed to have to match up with us, not the other way around.
KAT was a proven outside shooter, better than Poy and WCS. It made sense to me for Cal to go that route, but he wanted KAT's skills to be dominant on the inside, and he did do justice to instilling that. KAT is now very well rounded and could be someone's face-of-the-franchise in 5 years.

If Towns had hit his threes during the games, he would have had more opportunities. Same with Lyles. They kept missing so they only tried one and that was it.

This is true, although at least Lyles got more of a body of work to show how awful he was at shooting 3s. Towns got 8 attempts, would have liked to see another 8-10 before we said he could not shoot them at all. To be fair thoguh if he is jacking up 3's then we lose a key rebounder inside. As much as people like to bash WCS's effort/rebounding at times he would be who you would be relying on most of the time to get boards if Towns missed said shots.
