Probably not a popular opinion but let me state my case:
Fact: UK teams under Cal get much better towards the end of the season.
Fact: The best Calipari UK teams had at least one or more veteran players, even if those "veterans" were only sophomores.
Fact: Cal would still recruit the "best of the rest" after the top high school players went directly from high school to the NBA.
The result: Instead of massive turnover each year, the team would be able to carry the momentum from the annual strong finish into the next season. Although one or two players would be one and done, most players would tend to stay and have the opportunity to flourish in their sophomore and junior years giving more consistent veteran leadership each year. With this scenario, UK doesn't lose to Wisconsin and grabs another one along the way and is sitting now with 10 National Championships instead of 8.
At least that's one Hawkeye opinion.
