I'm not a true UK but as a lover of basketball I admire you guys from afar. And what Cal has done and is doing just amazes me!!! I don't know how anyone in BBN couldn't be totally appreciative of the job he's doing. I'm a Wake Forest fan and I guess I have a different perspective. Now nobody is above criticism, not even Cal but some of the things I've been reading is ridiculous. Next year you guys will start 5 freshman probably and Cal will show what kind of coach he is. I'm a fan of Cal which makes me pull for you guys and watch the job he does with your team next year. There will be plenty bumps in the road but from what I know of Cal he will come out swinging!! And the scary thing will be you guys in two years cause I don't see you guys losing much next year this time.

Cal has a special niche and he's certainly not a quitter. He is a human being though and subject to physical and emotional limitations.
I am starting to wonder how much of his OAD teams wears on the longevity of his career. It's got to take a lot out of a person to continually be in "rebuilding", or maybe "reloading".
Heck, it take a lot out of a fan to witness it (at least this one it does). I've learned to temper my expectations and even out the roller coaster just a bit.

Ummmmm for starters Hump will probably start at the 5 as a junior and if Briscoe and Bam come back that's a So. At the 4 and a Jr PG.
If we land Bamba then he will surely start the 5.

except briscoe won't be on the team, hump might not either and even if he is you think he starts ? what if bamaba is in there? even if not, i don't see any way hump starts next year.
Literally almost none of that will happen. Hump will be here next year but wont start but will be drafted after next season. Bam and Briscoe are gone . Our starting 5 will be Green/Diallo/Vanderbilt ( or KNox if he comes ) / PJ /Bamba . The bench will be Gabriel maybe , SKJ maybe, Hump , Another guard like Marc Smith , Alexander , Richards . That is a team with 8-10 NBA players eventually but boy will we take some lumps early on .The SEC is loaded next season and I think we will win it but it will be a 12-6 type winning season. In no way I'm I trying to be negative or derogatory towards Cal or UK. Matter of fact I'm a huge fan of Cal and an admirer of UK. You guys in Cal has the best all around CEO of a college program there is right now. I personally refer to Cal that way cause I believe he truly gets it!!! Kids, players, parents, high school coaches and especially AAU coaches love and respect Cal for the way he runs the brand of UK basketball. He's brutally honest and he challenges everyone around him to be great!! I respect that about him and if you're not up to a specific level he will not let you on the UK stage. But if you do play on that stage everyone knows you posses a certain level of high caliber basketball. And I know a lot of UK fans hate it sometimes but Cal truly runs a players first program. For example being from Winston-Salem everyone knew Harry Giles shouldn't have played this year after that last surgery in October. It was downplayed but that surgery set Harry back and he shouldn't have played!! But of course Harry wanted to try (what player doesn't want to play) and K needed him to play so he did and it may have cost Harry millions. Cal on the other hand sat Diallo even though he wanted to play and some players wanted him to play but Cal felt Diallo couldn't show his true self coming off the bench for this years team. And I honestly think it's the best decision for Diallo. I spoke with an assistant at UK and he knows Diallo could help but felt it would interfere with things and there wasn't enough time to fully integrate him. You guys have the guy and I do believe he benefits from being at UK but I know UK benefits from having Cal!! I wish we had him at Wake and I love what coach Manning is doing for us!!!

yeah because humphries was dominant this year.
UNC was the only game he scored more than 4 points. don't let the last memory you have of him trick you into thinking he's amazing.
Even if Bamba does come I could see Hump at the 5 and Bamba at the 4. He's wanting to play that spot. I don't think Richards will see a lot of clock next year no matter what. I see him struggling a lot like SKJ did this year.
