IMO, Edwards underachieving play, while disappointing, is far from the worst problem we have; he’s a leading economic indicator of the real problem: The coach and his player’s first, program/fans second Ponzi scheme.

the reason people are really pissed is they have seen this before - Edwards will continue to improve with Cal's dedication to playing time , the team will not accomplish anything of significance, and he'll bolt at the end of the season - getting as many as 32 games to hone his NBA craft.
Cal claims that he doesn't have favorites but we all know that he does. Plus his legacy with small forwards is atrocious. Whitney, Livingston, Boston, Matthews, Juzang, and now Edwards. When they aren't transferring from the program, they're not meeting expectations. I think Calipari is trying to prove something to the next batch of wing forwards he's recruiting, and it's massively backfiring.

He played maybe 4-5 of the last 8 minutes. He still saw good minutes while the game was still within grasp. We were only down 10 with 12:00 to go although it felt like 25.
Seems pretty obvious that Cal promised the starting spot to Edwards (and his Klutch handlers) during the recruiting process.
This is all about him being afraid of breaking that promise. The Klutch guys are ones he doesn’t wanna cross.

It's hard not to think one of them getting 15 minutes less and one 15 minutes more might have made some difference. But we'd have still lost. Almost everybody sucked tonight.
And people were pointing out last game how Edwards minutes were getting reduced and how he played least amount of anyone against GA with 13. Guess sheps minutes getting reduced now too smdh!!
I turned it off after that horrible selfish drive by Edwards to the rim towards the end of the first half. Threw up that garbage prayer with the guy on him that was way off. So sick of watching him play. I guess I'm back to only following road games online. Not worth getting pissed off over watching it live.

And it's one thing to force someone like BJ or Cason when there's not a whole lot of other talent.. But it's going to be catasrophic if we sacrafice this teams talent, among guys like Reed, Reeves, Big Z, etc.. just to preserve shittyand me-first players like Edwards and DJ.

That would only make sense if Cal didn't know Edwards' 2024 draft prospects were already gone. He has no chance of getting drafted and hasn't had one for some time; it just takes a while for the mock drafts to catch up.
