Cal is only a good recruiter...

All he did was roll the ball out and let the talent win, didn't you hear? Our Monstars were so much better than their plucky band of nobodies that the outcome was inevitable. Nine losses? That's ten too many for the talent at Coach Cal's disposal.

I think I covered all the bases, right?

Dang, but there's so much WE, rivals posters, could do better than Cal. Amirite?

He's 13-4 against that group in the NCAA Tourney since coming to UK.

But can't coach???

I know I'm not educating anyone here, but I find it amusing when other fan bases claim this.

actually, you probably are... i think we still have that minority opinion within the fanbase.

i wish we had 4 more titles as much as the next guy, but it ain't called march madness for nothing.

If you listen closely, you can hear the low grumbling of typica UL fan......"if Cal was a good coach, he would have three more titles already. He's had too much talent. He use can't coach."

It's sad when this is their only retort in comparing players, coaches, programs. And believe me, I work in Louisville and Lexington, this is what they tell me. It's sad and funny at the same time.

Two things to deal with this.

First is 1-7, obviously. Sure, Cal has had more talent than Rick, but if Rick is the best at Xs and Os like they claim, and Cal is mediocre as they claim, then Rick should've won more than that.

Second, who split the series with Rick when Rick had the GOAT college basketball team ('96 UK)? Oh, right, that was Cal - Cal had two players with high major offers on that roster and pulled out a 10 point win. How is that possible? Mediocre coach with 1 NBA player beats legendary coach with 8 NBA players?

Similarly, Cal and K have had equal talent when their teams have played, and they've split 1-1, including 11 point win for Cal. K is the best since Wooden, at least.

Louisville fans suck so bad they wish Cal to the NBA cause he kick their a$$.They better hope Rick can hold on there

No reason to question Cal.

The only things fans might question is...in a single game, everything on the line scenario, is HE the coach you want?

Regardless, Calipari is, bar none, the coach you would want getting you TO the game. Whether he wins it all or not...another story. Probably 4 of the worst dozen games of his coaching career have come in the biggest situations (2010 WVU, 2011 UConn, 2014 UConn, 2015 Wisconsin). All 4 of these games, UK was lackluster, fell behind and failed to execute down the stretch.

Setting: PHIL 103 Intro to Logic

The instructor hears the above criticism of Cal's coaching ability from a student - a gentle murmuring can be heard throughout the classroom.

Class, class, can anyone give me an example of a logical fallacy that was present in this argument? There are a couple to choose from.

Really need to schedule some series with UCONN in the coming years to set that record straight.

It is because they are jealous. I mean let's be real, if they had our coach they would be in love. Hypocritical maggots.

He's 2-1 against Brey, but your point still stands obviously.

You got me. It isn't my opinion either. People look for SOMETHING to criticize though.

With rival fans, first it was "you can't win with freshmen" now it's "cal should've won the title every year he's been at UK with that talent".
