Calipari has almost as many wins in the tournament as Pitino does in half the time. Cal has played 16 games against top 4 seeds at Kentucky, Rick has played 10 at Louisville.

Calipari 2010-2017
Overall record: 26-6
Record vs Top 4 seeds: 12-4

Pitino 2001-2017
Overall record: 28-12
Record vs Top 4 seeds: 5-5

Much tougher road, nearly as many wins in half the time. Think about it H.I.

If only Rick had more talent. If only someone at Louisville could be responsible for getting more talent....

Have always loved the "Well considering how much talent Calipari has had at Kentucky he should've won more" argument like these elite freshmen are just handed to him.

UK Tourney wins by decade:

80's: 13
90's: 31
00's: 14
10's: 26

2 years left for Cal to top that 31.

And just for comparison, Krzyzewski won 32 in his 90's heyday, and Roy Williams won 33 in the 00's.

It is disappointing that UK doesn't have more than 1 title under Cal. But it's irrational to look at the overall picture and expect more.

Tournament wins mean nothing unless the trophy is included. Sorry but that is reality.

We could win every game in the tournament, but if we lose the last game, it still means no championship.

That stat is simply a feel good stat.

But you have to win those games to get to the championship game and then you just roll with the results.

In the 90s we had five players enter the draft before the end of their senior year, none before the end of their sophomore year.

Different time. It's apples and oranges. Just a quick look at 1995 shows that the first round of the NBA draft was 66% seniors. Compare that to last years draft which was 16% seniors.

LMAO then you are one miserable SOB all but like maybe 3 years of your whole life ( if you are my age 36) . Such a bad way to look at things. If you are in it you have a chance to win it . And Cal has a UK a contender every year almost . Can't ask for more if you are rational.

Not putting lipstick on a pig and calling it beautiful. Not one for a moral victory, give me a trophy because we participated.
The only treason to keep score is to know who won.
