If we win thur or fri this place will be bursting with optimism—if we lose it will be as bleak and bloody as a “Hostel” movie.
We win Thu or Fri. The next game Sat or Sun is the pivotal one, IMO
We get to the S16 I'll start believing just a smidge. We lose in the first 2 games? BBN will go nuclear and it's going to be a long year of legitimate Cal bashing.
Anything short of a final 4 and I'll be going nuclear...this was supposed to be Cal's redemption year. A final 4 barely (if at all) redeems what he's put on the floor the last several years, and a sweet 16 damn sure won't

Nah, we need to win both next weekend and even then most of us will be hesitant. Win 3 and maybe we'll start getting optimistic, just in time for Cal to shit the bed against who knows who in the E8.
I think we will be fine the first weekend. It's just after the first weekend, I have no idea at that point.
Those first two opponents though will almost assuredly be worse than any decent SEC opponent. They won't have much real game experience with a team like ours. The defense is still very worrisome, but I just don't see any non-SEC sub 5-seed being able to really stop our offense, unless the officials step in.. which usually, isn't a problem in the early rounds of the NCAAT, where we have a vast collection of officials, not just the same shitty ones that keep screwing us.

Let me rephrase, If we lose before the FF I'm going to be pissed. But if we get to the S16 I'll start believing in the our chances to finish out the year strong.

Maybe they win a game or two. Maybe they don't. But, with Cal, they aren't going on some magical run. And next year will be the same old BS. I honestly believe next year won't be any different, and will finally be John Calipari's last season at Kentucky. One more year of this crap. Then, hopefully, we get Kentucky basketball back.

Honest to goodness I don’t even want to think about an exit in the first weekend. I’m just tired of all the drama and the hatefulness. The country has already succumbed to tribalism. Sports was my sanctuary from all of that. After this I’ll turn to porn 100%. Reality will be blurred. It will get weird. But tiddies will be the only thing we can all agree on.
Won 8 of our last 10 games against pretty damn good competition. Having zero confidence is on you. Sure we could lose but odds are we won't.
When they lose be it round 1 , 2 or 3. It will be to a team that has half the talent.

What’s crazy is how much “luck” could impact next weekend. If a 5 or 6 loses to their 12 or 11, depending on what seed we are, we will be decent favorites both games.
There’s a very realistic world that we are underdogs in our second game even as the better seed. For instance BYU, SDSU, and Wisconsin are more highly ranked in the computer metrics that betting lines are established off of.
We probably have around a 40-55% chance of advancing to the second weekend.
Due to some upsets on the second tier of mid majors, the first round opponent for 3 and 4 seeds don’t look too crazy.
Right this second if we’re a 4 seed you want to avoid Samford who is by far the highest rated potential 13. Charleston is a team that we line up really well with. They are terrible defensively and also play with good tempo.

You do know who the coach still is correct? 2 post season wins since 2019 that’s why….
A lot of the fanbase is easily fooled by a win or big game by a player and start believing that Cal can suddenly coach or a certain player has suddenly turned the corner. But until we get a coach it’s all fools gold.
I just hate that Cal has been allowed to waste a once in a lifetime lineup of guards like Reeves, Sheppard, and Dillingham. The players and fans deserve better than what Cal has done.

Yeah if the 5 seed in UK's bracket goes down game 1.
We will see 100 posts on here saying UK's path just got way easier.
Then like the last several years UK will promptly go on to lose to that double digit seed.
That double digit seed will then go on to get beat down the following game.
Two likely top 5 picks and perhaps 7 NBA players and be happy with one or two wins????

I’ve already had a belly full of losing early, hell with next year. he needs to be long gone after this year, win or lose.
Nothing moves the needle for me until we’re in the E8. S16 is not what we play for and this team is too talented to be losing that early in the NCAAT. My thoughts don’t change at all until we’re playing for a spot in the F4. Unless that happens this year I’m over Cal. Even if it does happen it might not be enough. Losing to an 11 seed Who-the-hell-cares State isn’t good enough either even if it does happen in the E8.
We have three of the best guards in the country yet it’s always the other teams guards that beat us.
Doesn’t matter who we play because we already know who our head coach is.
Whoever it is runs pick and roll and will have small guards we can’t guard that score 70 points against us.
Sadly, we can't even agree on that anymore. Sexuality is what ever you want, and as far as I'm concerned who you choose to tango with is fine with me. However, the problem now is, when you like X type (and whether you openly promote it or not(, it becomes a damn war of nuclear proportions
And now we've got yet another fun election coming up, where no matter who wins, and old man will lead us. And that's not exactly inspiring. America has become same shit, different day in every aspect of daily life and it's freaking exhausting dude. At least when we were good, you'd have that small bright distraction you could feel good about. But no.
If we win that one then the next game will be the pivotal one. No one, I mean no one is going to be satisfied with a knockout in the round of 32
So if we play Colgate (as projected by Lunardi), or a similar team you all are seriously confident that we’ll lose in the first round? Seriously? We won 23 games against arguably a very tough schedule IN SPITE of the coach. I just don’t see a first round exit, sorry not sorry.
