Honest thoughts? Not saying this because I’m biased, but how is he not a four-star? I know the rankings are skewed downward for OTE players, but am I missing something?

OTE isn’t the best most organized competition, but I agree he is better than a 3 star I just hope between now and Monday someday doesn’t steal him from Kentucky
He has rather low shooting percentages. What makes him interesting is that he grew from 6’6 or w/e to 6’10. So theoretically the guard skills he developed prior to his growth spurt would be exponentially more impactful with his rise in height, not too dissimilar from AD.
However, AD had a meteoric rise his senior year and was given a huge rise in rank after his growth spurt. We have not seen the ranking services give the same love to Burks so that makes me hesitant to think he’ll have immediate impact.
I think what winds up happening with this guy, if he comes here, is he sits his freshman year and either tries to go to the pros, g league, or transfers next season. I don’t think we will ever see him realize his potential in a UK uniform. I hope I’m wrong and I hope the coaching staff develops him into a worthy NBA prospect but I just don’t see them having enough time with him in order to do that.
I still think he’ll come here, they wanted to hold off on the announcement so they could make a late push for kaluma
He has ability. His shooting stroke is not broken. Would he stay here long enough to become a player here or will he bolt after 1 season. As a lower rated player he's going to be almost immediately recruited over.
I would obviously want Kaluma but wouldn’t that roster have the exact same problem as Arkansas this past year with a bunch of athletes and no shooting
If reeves leaves, we will have no proven 3pt shooters on the team. Just have to bank on the freshman
I think now we can take the “if” off with reeves if he is enrolled in classes he is gone. And the problem with the freshman is none of them are good shooters. Edwards is alright, maybe hart helps but he shouldnt be playing major mins

We just needed a couple adults on the roster. I mean legit skilled returners. Not only a transfer although at this point we have to take the scraps the question marks. I hope we are all wrong but with what returned to cbb we seem to be screwed for a title run, ff or any of that
First order of business, if he comes to UK, is ditch those Tennessee orange shoes.
I'll just be pleasantly surprised if we even make the NCAAT. I'm not expecting much. Especially with such a young group, no experience and aren't known as shooters.
But "are" or "should" the rankings be skewed down for OTE players? I mean 2 of them are projected to be top 10 picks this summer, and Dillingham is a top 15 recruit. Burks played vs the same defenders as those guys. And I can't imagine they are any worse than some random HS that every highly rated high school recruit plays against. Yeah, maybe their summer AAU games are tougher and a couple of holiday tournaments. But you can't tell me that Sheppard's Laurel Co played tough in-district teams, or Collins at middle-of-nowhere Atlanta-Texas did.
Regardless, at this point we need bodies, preferably with potential to contribute. He seems to fit that bill, even if he has delusions that he is a pro next summer (like CL) and leaves.

Was hart offered by Central Florida (or equivalent)? Was he asked to visit IU or Texas?

I would tell Kaluma, that he will have Reeves minutes and number of shots. I would not screw around with Reeves another second. Too many better players in the portal that never even got a look because this idiot coach waited on Reeves
I trust the experts more than the desperate fans here who are praying for a miracle. Cal has totally crapped out on keeping players or the transfer portal. So now we are wanting to elevate the objective status of leftovers.
