BBN supports building a wall - around Louisville

What's funny about this, comments being made about "let's do it" and keep the city's taxes.
Oh how they forget about all the business (IE riverport) that chose to build in the county instead of the city hence came the merger of city and county. First thing they did after merger was renovate anything and everything they could downtown..Let's not bring up the fact that "city taxes" are covering the cost of the Yum raping....Yeah, let's build that wall.

I refuse to click on the Crummy Journal. I live in Jefferson Co. I think that if you will look this county pays far more in taxes than probably every county in the state. IF Jeff. Co isn't on the top of the list it is close.

The merger occurred because the city of Louisville was dead. For the most part there were too many housing projects. Not a lot of income taxes coming from there.

exactly..they are doing everything they can to get people downtown and spend money..IE I used to enjoy going to the derby festival chow wagons. Used to have one in the city and two or three in the county, now the only one is downtown. I never go anymore and refuse to go downtown unless it's to visit somebody in a hospital..Nobody wants to go down there and risk being mugged or shot. It's a dump

Louisville's political minions are closely related to UL's minions.
They both share a common trait, "its me and the hell with everyone else" attitude.
The merger has done nothing for the folks living in the old Jefferson County that was sucked up in the merger to be called Metro Louisville.

If you do not live in and around Old Louisville, around UL campus, NULU, West End, downtown, forget it. Pay your taxes and shut up. That is how it is.

The writers for the Courier-Journal jump when Turtle Neck speaks. When Slick Rick speaks, you best be quiet.
People knock Rick Bozich, but at least he will call out crap. His sidekick, Eric Crawford was once a dingle berry on Slick Rick butt. No matter what Slick says, Crawford backs him.
UL can play a school that is total crap while UK plays a UNC, UCLA type and the next day in the paper, we are the secondary story to UL.

As a municipal bond investor, this doesn't sound like the wisest idea for the state. Louisville has a AAA/Aa1 bond rating while Kentucky has a A+/Aa3 bond rating. This would make it more difficult for the state to raise money and would risk bankruptcy for the state given the public pension situation. I also believe something like 60% of the state's tax revenues come from Louisville so it would create a hole in the budget. My two cents.
