Bryant for IU

Contemplating it. Better chance he'll come back than was thought earlier in the year. Stock dropped trying to play on perimeter this year.

didnt improve any far as i could tell. Still awkward around the post and not a hella fluid athlete. Good enough college player i guess.

No wonder clappy is gone if he had Bryant out on the perimeter for one second. He's got a decent shot (like Cousins) but he belongs inside all the time. Cal forbid Cousins from taking shots from the outside.

This is why our players go, by the way. Stock usually has nowhere to go but down if you have a good one to begin with.

He should've hit the NBA last season. It's another perfect example of staying not being beneficial. Yet we will still question what many on our own team do with the advice of Cal.

The dude will most likely never have more than a cup of coffee in the NBA so why should he have gone last year? He would have spent all of this year in the D league and he would have been drafted late 1st Rd at best. On another note CAM is the real deal boys. He'll have IU elite again in a few years if not sooner. Our administration finally did something right. I hope they don't screw around and lose him after 7 years. Meaning when the time comes they'll need to pay the man what he deserves. The President of IU couldn't care less about sports.

That whole program is a joke and full of loosiers. I liked Archie Miller before he took over that job but now I hope he and that program fails.

Bryant would've been a first round pick last year. The draft was horrible for big men.
Late first Rd, maybe. I watch every game and I wouldn't draft him now. He'll do better now that they have a good coach but he doesn't have NBA talent. End of the bench guy is the best he'll ever be and I'm a fan. I wish and hope I'm wrong and that he has a long NBA career but I'm not seeing it. 6'6 white boys block his shots down low. Having Yogi his freshman year helped make him look better than he was. Yogi has proved he's better than most realized.

I'm sure you do but that's not reality. This is the first time I've really felt good about the program in over 2 decades. Knight didn't care his last 7 or so years and the hires after him were no good. CAM is the real deal though. Just my gut feeling but it's usually right.

Your program is no longer a blue blood. It is a shadow of what it once was. Gonzaga, Wichita state, and butler are better programs than Indiana.

He is a good young coach but unfortunately he is with Indiana now so I hope he burns

I've never heard anyone question players leaving who were widely regarded as 1st rounders. It's players like Teague and Orton (both of whom Cal advised to come back, actually), Briscoe (no word on Cal's advise but he's not even projected second round...), etc that get questioned. And deservably so.

Miller has lots to prove, first he has legendary coaches from all points coming in to poach players from instate. Hard to see Milller battling Cal, coach k and such for Langford among others. I mean your that kid and you probably have no clue who Miller even was before coming to iu. good luck on that one.

Was Bryant really projected as a first half pick last year though?

CAM's the real deal man I'm telling ya. He hasn't been here long but he says and he's doing all the right things. He's going to have no problem landing his share of top 50 talent each year.

Never said you did. I was responding to MakinMusic's post. He was the one I quoted, not you.
Got ya, I think it would have to be hard for those guys in that gray area. Sometimes it works out well when they come back for another year and some guys don't progress and drop in the draft or never get drafted. It's definitely a gamble either way. Being a king of a major university though in a sense has to be priceless.

Miller will put IU back on the map. I expected a lot more out of Bryant this year. He seemed to take a step backwards.

He did. Not sure if it was Crean s coaching, no Yogi, or if he was thinking about his draft stock all year and that paralyzed him a bit. Probably a mix of the 3.

Poor IU fan...still has hope. If I didn't dislike them so much, I'd almost feel sorry for them.

You're gonna dislike us more in a few years. He's going to do to Coach Knight that Aaron Rodgers did to Brett Favre. It's quite clear CAM is the real deal. He's a great coach and he'll land plenty of talent. IU will dominate the big ten for years under him and he'll make plenty of runs in the tournament. In about 5 years when he's really got things rolling all the other blue bloods will be losing their coaches. There's a chance he goes on an amazing run at some point during his tenure at IU.

Why do you have to type Coach Archie Miller?! That's even more dumb.

You can't just type Miller?!
CTC or CAM is just what we do on our board. It's not something I've really put much thought into though. I guess it's a respect thing maybe, I don't know. /QUOTE]

Point was, late 1st last year to not that this year. Also, he's a year older. Major mistake to return, but he's bypassed the most volatile year for his draft stock, so he might just be a 4-year player now.

I would be happy with that. I'm not sold he'll ever make it in the NBA but he is good for a college player and could be great.

I just think he is. I haven't liked any of their hires until now. When they hired crean I thought really??? That's the best IU can Do? Marquette fans came to our board and said sorry but he's not a good coach and they were right. But this has been totally different. UD fans are totally bummed. They knew they had a great coach and now he's gone. UD even offered him 3 million a year in an attempt to keep him which shows they also knew what they had. He's said and so far done everything right. Whatever "it" is this man has it. He's not a used car salesman he's a basketball junkie. Kids will start to flock to him here in a few years. If he fails to start dominating the conference by year 3 I'll be shocked. You're right as most of this is gut feeling other than he's been very successful at UD but he has everyone very excited.
