Briscoe

Love the way Briscoe played tonight. He played very smart. He didn't force the ball, made great decisions with excellent passing. He shot the ball with confidence. Just all around great game! Without his play tonight not sure we win. Very proud of him!

Briscoe seems to have found his groove. He's been very good the last two games. I just wish our interior players would find theirs and stay in it for more than one game.

However, the boy is 4 for his last 25 FTs. 4-25. That's 16%

I cannot fathom how that is even humanly possible for a basketball player as talented as Briscoe. DeAndre Jordan isn't even that bad, and he's BAD.

Loving his defense, though, and I'm glad that at least his non-free throw and 3PT attempt shots are starting to go in.

He was really good, instead of ESPN talking about how bad Kentucky is they probably should have given him some props for a good game

Is a player allowed to shoot a jump shot from the free throw line after he is fouled. If so, maybe Briscoe should just shoot a jump shot, but not step over the line.

FT are all mental. Remember that dead eye shooter UF had when they won back to back NC?

Kid couldn't miss from 22ft. But on the line he would actually back up to 17 feet instead of 15 to try to get comfortable. Still missed them.

Briscoe will figure it out. One thing i love about his game is he just seems teachable. Seems like he has taken his coaching ,listened and translated to the court. With him penetrating and dishing out it now free up Ulis to get some looks from 3. Normally that was Ulis penetrating and dishing out to Briscoe for the open 3. Honestly who do we want taking that shot, Briscoe and Murray? Or Ulis and Murray?

Great to see him coming around. Not 2 weeks ago he was being spit roasted on this board.

I'm not the biggest Briscoe fan but I have to admit...him hitting a few 15-17ft jumpers the last 2 games has helped the scoring droughts UK used to go thru become less common. Teams still play off of him but he can get a pick and if you go under it...he is dribbling to a spot he feels good about and hitting it the last 2 games.

As Cal said after Bama game...if he starts hitting some shots..that changes us. And it appears to have changed us. Good for Briscoe!

Now if we can anything from Skal we may be a title contender ;)

I would love for Cal to bring someone in like Macy just to teach f/t shooting. Briscoe would average in double figures every night. Surely someone on this coaching staff knows how to shoot f/t correctly.

2 games is not enough to make me feel confident it is a permanent trend, but we will all take it for now. He has improved a lot the last two games...but has to maintain it. No one expects him to hit almost every jumper (as he has the last 3 halves it seems like) but we need some consistency. He also has to figure out the FTs.

If he keeps hitting his shot like he has last couple, games he will build confidence.

There's another thread on this (surprise) but I really think Briscoe needs the treatment from Romeo in Tin Cup when Roy gets the shanks. Just fill his head with a bunch of garbage to purge out all the thoughts clouding his game. JUST GO OUT THERE AND PLAY like you've been doing since you were a kid. It will come back to you.

I am VERY encouraged by what I'm seeing from him out there.

Cal is working with each player. the ones who have it will come around, the ones who dont have fire in theri eyes will not
