Does anybody see Isaiah as a bigger and longer version of Kyle Lowry?? Both have bulldog type games. Thoughts?

he looks like a knock off slip mahoney, only taller, thinner, not as articulate, but just as athletic, without the hat.

Yeah I've been saying Kyle Lowry for a while. I love our back court. By far the best in the country. It might be good enough for us to take everything this season despite other glaring weaknesses.

Lack of strength around the basket mainly. I don't think that's something that can be fixed.

Our shooting and free throw shooting are bad right now but those can be fixed. But what I had in mine was strength around the basket and the free throw shooing ultimately not mattering because our guards are all so good with the ball.

There are very few big men dominated teams this season. Plus, guard play is far more important.

Don't know who Lowry is but I assume he can't shoot.

briscoe is the worst shooter i have ever seen. worse than MKG, worse than goodwin. but because we have guys like ulis and murray, you can live with it. he is great on defense and driving the basket.

Matthews reminds me more of MKG.

Briscoe is probably our best on ball defender. He and Ulis are both pests.

Briscoe's shot looks better the MKG. MKG had a weird hitch that was going to be hard to fix. I actually don't think Briscoe's pull up shot looks that bad. His set shot and free throw is where he convulses. If I was him I would be in the gym for extra hours every day putting up shots. Improving his flaws could mean millions of dollars to him.

Been impressed with his defense, which could be a factor in his free throw shooting since he made a respectable % in hs/aau

there's not many guys like him because his arms are so long and strong. i think in terms of their game andre miller isn't bad at all. good defenders, good rebounders for pg's. i think briscoe is tougher and a better penetrator, while miller is a better natural floor leader. but briscoe is super young. he could end up being better. his one on one defense could be better, as could his off the dribble shooting. he just needs to really work on his stroke. pg's can't be shooting poorly from the line. it's too obvious right now and i think it will be fixed in time.

I still think Briscoe is a better shooter than he is getting credit for. He did win a three point contest at one of those high school showcases. I just think he put on a bunch of muscle in a short period of time this summer and he shot is still adjusting to that. That combined with the effort he gives on the defensive end. He isn't used to shooting free throws that tired because in high school I am sure his defensive intensity wasn't at the level it is now. I expect by the mid SEC play and into the spring we will be able to judge Briscoe's shot fairly

lowry is smaller and faster/quicker

with his substandard jumper, craftiness off the bounce and how he's able to shield defenders with his body and finish at the rim briscoe reminds me a little of former uk assistant rod strickland

Exactly, where is all this Briscoe is a lousy shooter stuff coming from? He's not Steph Curry, but I think he has shown considerable improvement over the last few months.

His numbers this year have been skewed somewhat by some questionable shot selection on drives at times, but he's actually been one of our better outside shooters. The free throw shooting stuff is all mental. I suspect by the end of the year his average there will be up in the 70's.

The thing I respect the most about Briscoe is his incredibly mature attitude about his game. He knows what he needs to do to improve and he is working on it and listening to Cal.

I love Briscoe. I'd take his elite-level defense over a rise in his shooting percentage any day. UIis and Murray (and to some extent Willis) are enough as far as three point shooting goes. I suspect Mulder will get some chances as well.

Cal must be loving the fact that he has three high level perimeter defenders in Ulis, Briscoe, and Matthews, plus a fourth guy in Hawkins who has proven himself as well. Throw in Poythress and an improving Skal and this team's defense will only improve diametrically over the rest of the season.

Lowry is a big time shooter. Ive seen that guy hit some really tough shots. He is badass. I do see some Lowry in Briscoe outside of the shooting ability. Lowry would be Briscoe's ceiling imo

You guys don't give him the credit he should be getting. The guy makes plays, he's our best driver and finisher. He puts great ball pressure on guards and will pick you up full court if needed. I think he is a better passer then Cal thought to.

I can't live without him off the floor more then a few minutes at a time.
