Brett McMurphy bowl predictions

The match up with Okie State would be awesome.

I’m assuming the Peach and Fiesta are the playoff bowls. I don’t see UM and OSU both getting bids. Riley’s chicken little move probably pays off for him this year. He’s very good at blowing teams out in games he was expected to win.

it seems like alabama and georgia are yet again on track for the playoff.

that means that the 3rd place sec team is likely to get the sugar bowl. if bama holds serve that will take out aTm, arkansas or ole miss....you would think those 3 would beat up on each other and get another conference loss or 2 somewhere along the way.

for kentucky they need to win the games they are supposed to win (mizzou, vandy, usc, msu) in order to be in play. that leaves it down to ole miss, tennesee and georgia. kentucky absolutely must get 1 of those to have a shot. if they get 2 they will separate themselves.

Don't see how that happens. Clemson is likely going undefeated and will knock a 2 loss team out of top 8 and likely be in the playoffs.

I don't think they will go undefeated, even as bad as the ACC appears to be right now. No idea who jumps up to beat them, but just don't have that "dominant" feeling about them right now. Too early to tell if he's right, but it's where they look to be right now. I'm surprised he has PSU where he does. I don't think they're going to finish anywhere near where they seem to be right now.

That is who I suspect gets bumped, PSU. If anyone in the ACC was very good I think they have a slip up along the way, but even with 1 loss I think they bump a 2 loss team. Not sure the selection committee will want to take 2 teams from the SEC and BIG10 and leave the other vonferences out if they have 1 loss champions.

Under this scenario, it means Penn State has 2 losses to OSU and Michigan.

Also, OSU or Michigan has to have 1 loss since they play.

I don't see this coming true unless every other team has 2+ losses before the final week of the regular season. Because they will likely be 1/2 and undefeated going into the conference championship game, UGA and Bama could easily make it for the 3rd time. I don't see the Michigan/OSU loser staying at 4 if both enter ranked 3/4.

Under this same scenario, Kentucky probably has 1 loss and is ranked no worse than 6/7 before CCG week and perhaps as high as 5. That could slip them above the OSU Michigan loser.

I’d be willing to bet right now that Kentucky is better than Ohio St. and Michigan as well as OK St. and SC and the Nittany Lions.
Id vote the Cats 3rd right now behind only UGA and Bama and as the season progresses and we get back CRod and learn this new offensive scheme better I may put UK ahead of those two as well!

I think in order to get that game, we'd have to win at Missouri either at Ole Miss or Tennessee, plus, win everything else. Tall order. Maybe.

I honestly believe there are only 3 games to be highly concerned with and you know the 3.

I believe we can make the Sugar Bowl under the following conditions:

1. Bama and UGA are in the CFP
2. Go 6-2 in the SEC with 1 of those losses to UGA and the other to either UT or Ole Miss
3. Hope that the other team we lose to (UT or Ole Miss) goes 5-3

I'm not sure why so many cat fans have this mindset. If we don't improve, we could definitely lose to MSU and USC. Mizzou on the road is also not a gimme. Even if our OL does not improve, I still think we beat Vandy and UL, but the rest of the games would be absolute dogfights if our running game and OL play does not change from its current form.

Also, I love beating UF and am still reveling in that win, but they could (and probably should) be 0-3 right now and are staring a bunch of other losses right in the face (UT, UGA, LSU, AM, FSU).

Because we are damn good and the schedule is very favorable with 8 of 12 at home.

The 3 big teams play each other. I guess they could all end up with 1 loss, but I just don't see anyone y in the ACC that is a real threat to beat CU. Their DL is elite and they just don't have to be real good to get to 13-0.

Clemson has a harder schedule than they have in years. They’ll be lucky to win 2 of 3 out of Wake Forest, NC State, and Miami. And they have to go to ND and FSU. Clemson will be favored double digits for both of those but I expect them both to be closer than that. Clemson will be lucky to go 10-2.

Slow down there mr hyperbole.

Geez we are #8 right now with a few shots at #7 or even #6 or #5 next Sunday and could possess the longest win streak in the nation and all you can come up with is a weak, lame attempt at a cutdown?!
Man, some of you guys are honestly beyond miserable.

I think people are selling USC short. They are a solid team. I think it will be Georgia/Alabama winner, Clemson, USC, Michigan/Ohio St. winner.

I hear you but you would also rank UK FB slightly behind the Buffalo Bills in Superbowl odds and UK men's BB over the LA Lakers. #Context

Maybe so, but not a good team in that mix.

Week 5 is probably going to be very telling about our future prospects. SEC road game against perhaps a more legit Top 10-20 team than Florida was. CRod finally returns and we see what our running game really may look like, and what other positive affects that may have on the passing game. Can’t wait to see how things look October 1st.

The tweet was sort of confusing because the graphic shows 8 teams instead of 12, but the graphic combined with the commentary does have the whole top 12 and Clemson is in the 12. If Clemson does go undefeated, then you could put them in the playoff and take out a SEC or Big 10 team (the projection has both conferences with two teams) and put that team in the slot that he has Clemson in the NY6.

My problem with is, it's going to be hard for Ohio State AND Michigan to make the playoff. One of the two is necessarily ending the regular season with a loss and it's impossible for both to make the conference championship game.

Wouldnt that be a b1tch? 3rd best team in the country ... and 3rd best team in the conference...

i am shocked

I see the winner of the KY-UT game getting that Sugar Bowl slot. End of season is going to be crazy.

As an Kentucky fan living in Ohio, I want NOTHING more than a shot at the Buckeyes. I think we would have a great shot against them and a win would give me years worth of harassment to hand out at work, my kids (wife's a teacher) school and everywhere else. I've been BEGGING for that game for multiple years. Please Lord make it happen.

He’s been a Cat believer for awhile now, always giving them respect in the AP poll. Here are his latest bowl predictions

While I hope he’s right unless UK’s offensive line play radically improves, I fear we may be losing more games than many of us expect. Right now, I don’t believe UK is a legitimate top 10 team. Starting at Ole Miss and the games thereafter, we will certainly find out.

Quite a few undefeated teams in the SEC right now to be making that prediction. Arky was clearly overlooking whoever they play last week. ATM is a huge rivalry game, OM has looked good. UK and OM play next week, Crod will make a big difference, but OM has an impressive rushing attack this year too.
