Post times were announced today for Breeders Cup.

Looks like classic will run at 5:35 with last race at 6:10,

So if its true that the networks have already agreed to televise the game in the evening as not to conflict with Breeders, then logically Cats game would most likely be the 7:30 SEC Network slot. (Musberger and Palmer basically hinted as much last week)

But wondering if the game might even be later?

I know there have been several SEC games this year that started at 9:00 on either ESPN 2 or U

Guess we will find out soon enough.

I think all the 9:00 kicks have been Central Time games.

I would love for a 9:00 kick though. It would be a total sh*tshow.

Where has it been written or said that the networks will set a night kickoff to avoid Breeder's Cup conflict? Is this a message board myth or has it been confirmed/legitimized by someone at UK or a network?

the best part about Lexington hosting the Breeders Cup on the same night as the Tennessee game is that all the Tennessee fan's can't get hotel rooms in Lexington. We are keeping them out! Should do this every year.

The classic is set for 5:35 eastern time. I hope it is a 7 game. I can watch the BC on TV and bet on my phone while tailgating so that is not a problem. 5:35 gets me into the game in plenty of time. I think going to both is a pipe dream. ESPN will schedule the game whenever they want with no regard for anyone or anything else.
And no, I won't place any bets for anyone.

The TV gods have not shown the slightest interest in taking any other event into consideration for many years, someone will have to show me proof that they give a rat's patoot about the Breeder's Cup schedule or anything else. The game schedule is set by expected ratings. Period. Traffic that day will be insane regardless of what time the game starts.

I'm with the guy above...TV makes the rules now. If they want the game at noon, then it will be at noon.

Florida v. UGA has already been picked for the 3:30 CBS slot. Otherwise, not a huge, marquee sort of weekend in the conference as Bama and LSU are both off. Other games include

* Ole Miss @ Auburn (probably the most appealing game for the networks and therefore likely to land a prime time ESPN slot)

* South Carolina @ Texas A&M (another possible night game slot)

* Vandy @ Houston

* UT Martin @ Arkansas

* UT @ UK

I'm guessing UK gets a 7:30 or 8:00 kickoff on the SEC Network or ESPN2. The networks would not hesitate to schedule against the BReeders Cup, but between the weak slate of games that weekend, and the extreme pressure that would be placed on police,emergency personnel, transportation, etc. if the events significantly overlapped, I'm thinking the SEC and the networks can figure this out and avoid doing that. If UK does get a late kick, with the Breeders Cup in town, it being Halloween, and the Vols in town, I expect the smell of Bourbon will be pretty strong one CWS that night.

The Tennessee football team is staying in Berea. Apparently, no one in the UT athletic department took th Breeder's Cup weekend seriously.

The game will be at night. The university does have a large say in this.

This simply is not true. I'm not sure where you guys are getting this information, but UK does not have the ability to dictate TV times.

The university does request on certain occasions a game time due to events or other criteria. Since there are now multiple channels available, it is likely an evening kick off I would be granted.

The SEC was aware of the Breeders Cup at Keeneland when they made the schedule and will accommodate the time.

I call BS because if they were worried about accommodating the Breeder's Cup they would have scheduled UK for a road game or bye week. ESPN doesn't care about anyone or anything when it comes to scheduling.
