Brad Calipari Had a Nice Shooting Effort Yesterday

I think he'd be a mop up player here. On the other hand, his teammate Omari Spellman is the real deal. Impressed me as much as anybody at the Nike Global Challenge, which included players Matthews, Blakeney and Zimmermman.
Be fine with me if Brad and Spellman wind up here.

I'm hearing UK was considering the Calipari kid but cooled on him.

Rumor has it there were some pics which surfaced that showed Coach Cal in an expensive sedan with a recruit. Many think the recruit driving was none other than Brad Calipari.

The UofL boards suggest Forde is going to drop the hammer and release the story about these supposed pics and he is doing it the weekend of the final four. Plus, they are saying Forde may have other pics of Coach Cal and this recruit as well as pics of this kid with a couple of NBA All stars who played for Cal.

Not looking good guys...

Brad has said he will never play more than one year in CBB, so Cal has no interest. Louisville has offerred but only on the condition dad comes with him.

Remember when Saul Smith came in. Tubby was jokingly asked how he managed to land him and he said, "I had to sleep with his mother." LOL!

I'm guessing Cal might end up doing the same thing for this recruit. Is that a violation? LOL!

These package deals seldom work out. We'll probably just get Spellman.

Pete Thamel is said to be investigating coach Calipari; something to do with contacting this recruit during dead periods.

This recruit lived with coach Cal for several years. We've all seen "The Blindside," that's all we need is the NCAA sniffing around to see if Cal took him in to funnel him to UK.

If he walked-on at UK, I can't really see any potential outrage. He's already better than any of our current walk-ons, with the exception being Floreal.

I don't think Cal will want Brad to play here. Too much scrutiny, especially for a kid like Brad. He is a how do you say it politically correctly a wannabe gangster. Plus I think I heard Brad wants to try and play at a NAIA level type school and actually try to play. Don't know if he could even do that though seeing as how he couldn't even get minutes for LCA. It's kind of hilarious that he went to Prep school for an extra year of high school. Thought that was reserved mainly for really good players trying to get their grades up.

Maybe, but if Brad's not playing, how would that equate scrutiny?

Coaching your son for four years has its upside.

It's not the playing or not playing that would cause an issue. It's Brad himself I'm not sure if UK fans would be ready for. It wouldn't bother me, but I can see some of the older and more country brethren not liking the wannabe gangster, trash talking, rich kid, daddy's boy on the team. Don't think we've ever had a white guy like that before and mix that with the fact that it would be Cal's son, just think it would be a disaster. To act like White Chocolate you better be able to play like Jason Williams could, you know what I mean.

You just described Steve Massiello

There was never an issue between Steve and the fans because he rarely played and fans don't interact with players on a daily basis.

Brad, like Steve could be a pain in the ass for fellow students though.

He shot the ball very well against Carlton Bragg and VASJ on Saturday, excellent catch and shoot shooter. His Macduffie squad had two excellent wins over VASJ and Cleveland St Edwards over the weekend at the Dunk 4 Diabetes. He dropped a couple of shotguns after swishing 3's. I spoke with him Saturday night in the hotel lobby, as his team stayed at the same hotel as my team. He was a very nice kid, who smiled when I told him he would look good in Kentucky blue. Omari Spellman outplayed Bragg on Saturday. This kid is going to really good once he gets his body in shape. He has great hands, touch and footwork. He just needs to tone up.

Sounds to me like someone is really jealous of Brad Calipari ?

Seems to me you have the issues.

that is hilarious. I'm 29 years old. I don't have issues with kids in high school. trust me I'm good being me. I should of just written what I really wanted to say at the end but I didn't, but since the poster brought up the issues between Maisello and the students I'll say it. I think Brad might get knocked out by a fellow student on campus, that would be a total disaster.

You think someone on UK's campus would knock out the son of the coach who's winning at a better clip than Rupp and who hangs out almost exclusively with guys the size of Demarcus Cousins? I mean, we can agree to disagree.

It's also probably not wise to speculate on the attitude of a teenager none of us really know much of anything about. Painting him as some cross between a snotty rich kid and a fake gangster is unfair without some kind of legitimate substance. You mean he has a wealthy dad and has spent most of his childhood around black dudes? Okay, I guess.

Truth be told, it's pretty inconsequential regarding whether he comes here, aside from it possibly keeping Cal at UK for the duration of his walk on days and everyone yelling "shoot!" when he comes in the game. No real harm or benefit either way.

I second this and support this message.

I don't know if he will ever play at UK or not, but I understand he very hard worker on his game. Hope he continues to play well

Yep, well put.

We wouldn't be having this conversation if it were not for the
Tubby/Saul fiasco. There is inherently nothing wrong with playing for
your father, it has been done many times without incident, right here at
UK by the legend and Herky 55 years ago. But Tubby did it wrong. If Cal
would do the same it would be another fiasco. If Cal wants to let Brad
play here, and you know Brad wants to, it would be just fine, but Cal
must make it right.

Then please post like you are 29. What is "hilarious" is what you have posted!

As you can read what your fellow posters have written, your issues with one Brad Calipari are BS and very immature for a 29 year old.
