I upgraded my Dish receiver yesterday. I now have YouTube. I watched Bol in many different videos. Here is my take. I love the 17 year old. Very gifted and the sky is the limit. Great hands and rebounds very well. If you attack the paint and he bites on the pump fake he will still block the shot with authority. Shoots the 3 very well.
The only thing I noticed is he still needs to get stronger and In shape. I believe coach Cal had to cut him due to not being able to keep up the fast pace the 19 and under team is playing. I read a quote from Cal if you weren't in shape there wasn't enough time to get a player in shape before the trip. Seems like that fits here and from summer AAU and H.S. videos.
I would love to land this young man with a handful of others, some on 19 and under World Team and some not. I think we will have a knock it out of the park recruiting class.

You could be right, railroadkat, but I also thought we heard on here that there was concern about something that had happened in the past with his family in that part of the world and that it might also be a risk for him going there. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that but know I read something like that on this board at the time of the tryouts.

ORCAT you are correct on that point and could have played a huge part in him not making the cut. However in film I reviewed he labors up and down the court at times. I really like him and would love to have him. He just needs more weight training and get in the best shape of his life!

Got your attention. Not being smart. My computer monitor is so small compared to my TV. Naturally I enjoy it more from TV. Now if I find the under 19 & under basketball games live that will be great.
Hell yeah. What's your favorite thing to watch besides basketball?

Supposedly whilst traveling to the US, Manute Bol and his family experienced some racism. Sudanese and Egyptians don't always get along. Bol Bol is American but very obviously of Sudanese descent, so it may have been a factor with recent terror attacks down there.

*i think the Bols are Sundanese. Too lazy to google.

Hopefully he can put on more muscle than his father. That dude was sickly skinny his entire career. Still, this young man looks amazing if he can put it all together.

Tried to find this on Google but failed. Anyone know Bol's middle name? If it's Bol, I'm going to be impressed. That would be the strongest parenting move since George Foreman named all his male kids George.

Yep. Any time you see an African kid with the same first and last name it's safe to assume he's Sudanese. There's a southern Sudanese tribal tradition of naming the family's first born son that way.
