Bol Bol MVP of EYBL

Yep he will be our center on the 18 team with another top 20 18 center backing him up and SKJ getting a few minutes here or there as well. At least that this layman's opinion. A class of Bagley,Zion , Bol Bol, Quickly, A second SF like Moore and then a second pf/c type seems likely. I think we lose Richards, KNox , Gabriel , JV , Diallo and possibly PJ .

The kid is awesome. Thanks for all the info, it was great! Everyone can see why Coach Cal offered him. 7"2" you can't teach that. He will be off the charts skill wise by the end of his senior year. His offensive game is improving each game now. Go get your man Coach Cal!

Yep and he is showing that at 7'2 he can be consistently a 3 point shooter. Now Cal would prolly teach him an inside game, but it's nice knowing that he can pull a big man out and let our guards drive the hole.

The dude made almost 50% of his three point attempts while also making over 80% free throws. Overall, his TS% was over 75. Insanity.

When do people start making the Durant comparisons?

I don't think you can make Durant comparisons, considering this kid is already 4-5 inches taller then him. Bol might be entering a stratosphere of his own considering his size and skill set.

Caneintally,

It's rare that I agree with someone to the extent I do with you on your post here! The only worry I have is with Zion. I think Bok, Bagley, Quickley, and Moore are great bets and am afraid that your list of early entries will be correct. Hopefully we lose so many players due to winning a title that'll boost their stock!

Be interesting to see how his athleticism grows if at all. At this level and probably college he can still ball out. NBA he is going to have to take it up alot IMO.

Only if he doesn't come to UK....then they will :joy:

Every spring/summer it seems there's a guy who blows up. Anthony Davis, Markelle Fultz, Collin Sexton, etc.

Looks like Bol Bol is that guy this year.

If he's going to be priority number one at the five spot, might open it up for Naz Reid to be our four if Cal doesn't feel good about Bagley playing college ball.

Just so many options for 2018 in the front court.

Good analysis Willy. The only thing about Bol I've noticed is he brings the ball to his chest then shoots his three point shots. The way he hits 3's I wouldn't change a thing!

Hopefully won't be an issue as he wont need to create his own shot. Just hit enough that they have to guard him and open the lane. He could truly be an all around weapon.

His dad is 7'7. He might not be finished growing!!!

If he gets to be 7'7 with his skill level, he could revolutionize the game.

We may be watching the next NBA legend to be.

I hope you are right about Bol. Would be a wonderful get.

If we get that class with Green, Washington, Gilgeous-Alexander, Killeya-Jones, Wynyard, and Baker back, we would definitely be the favorites.

G Green/Gilgeous-Alexander
G Quickley/Baker
F Williamson/Moore
F Bagley/Washington
F Bol/Killeya-Jones/Wynyard

I would feel really good about our title chances with that group. I can't see Willaimson, Bagley, and Bol being on the same team, though. Wasn't it reported that Williamson wouldn't go to the same school as Bagley? Still, it's fun to dream.

Good observation Ricky. Arizona is also recruiting Bagley along with Bol. Bagley I believe is from Arizona. So it's hard to out recruit coach Cal. It will be a battle for both of these gifted players.

Zona is going to be tough to beat for both.

But they are likely going to be very, very young next season.

They lose Jackson-Cartwright, Ristic, and Pinder to graduation.

Plus they are likely to lose Ayton, Trier, and Alkins.

That's there starting five and a key reserve gone.

They will likely have 3-4 Sophs back that won't play a whole lot this season. A couple of good wings in Randolph and Akot.

The PG spot is going to be the problem. They are weak there this year and will likely be even weaker with PJC graduating.

I think their eggs are all in the 2018 basket. They win it all this year or wait a couple years for another shot.

I can't see them as a serious title contender in 2019 unless they bring in an absolute stud PG.

I think Cal convinces at least one of Bagley or Bol to come here and play for a title.

Cal will have that stud PG that will get them the ball.

They landed a 5* pg in Brandon Williams yesterday.

So long as he doesn't turn into Shawn Bradley

Arizona has never scared me. We have the best in the business in Cal. It doesn't hurt that Cal will be around both Bol-Bol and Bagley this summer.

Actually Brandon Williams was rated a 4* according to Zona's site. Highly regarded. They have been recruiting him since Williams was in the eight grade. I'm adding to my original response you are right he is a 5*......my Bad!

ESPN and 247 have him as 5 star while Rivals and Scout have him as 4 star.

Shareef O'Neal will play very little into Bol's recruitment. If you hear otherwise, you've found a rare Arizona fan.

Bol to UK is reaching, Wall to UK, KAT to UK, MKG to UK, Noel to UK, etc. type status. Barring an act of god, Calipari has Bol locked down. Even more so than Bagley or Quickley, if I were to guess and Calipari is pretty far ahead on both of those players right now.

If Bagley goes to college, it will be UK. Quickley is Calipari's #1 PG which is almost a guarantee every year.

Yet still, I'd wager on Bol to UK more than either of those players at this point.

Bagley, Quickley, Bol, and Moore are looking like recruits that UK has an insurmountable lead on at this point.

I'd have said the same about Tree Young and Bamba at this point last year, though.

Currently, Kentucky is either tied or leading according to the semi-worthless Crystal Ball for 7 of the top 14 recruits for 2018. Regardless of how things end up, UK will sign 6-7 players and add yet another #1 class to it's accomplishments.

2018 is a GREAT year talent wise from a recruiting standpoint too. Bagley, Zion, Bol, and Langford would have an excellent shot at beating out Porter for the #1 spot in 2017, if you were to ask me.

Bol, Bagley, Quickley, and Moore look like heavy UK leans so far, but things are fairly early. Bol, Bagley, and Quickley look like locks.

I doubt we have a shot at Zion. I think Cal will be filling out the class with some combination of Romeo Langford, Khavon Moore, Ja'deveon Smart, Nazreon Reed, Moses Brown, Cameron Reddish, Louis King, and Jaedon LaDee if I were making a shot in the dark guess so early in the game. Romeo and Reddish are interested, but not favoring Kentucky according to anyone, but it is Calipari we are talking about here. The rest of those players have UK as either #1 or tied for #1 on the ultra reliable chrystal ball (HA! YEAH RIGHT! Hello Jalen Brown, Andrew Wiggins, Kevin Knox, and Mohammed Bamba...)

Getting Bol, Bagley, Quickley, and any of the other 3 players listed would make us STRONG title contenders once again and depending on who returns, the unanimous pre-season #1 team.

If 2017 doesn't cut down the nets, I feel strongly that 2018 will. These next 2 years will be a great time to be a Kentucky fan. Looking similar to what was achieved in 14 and 15 from a roster and talent perspective. Both of those teams were a missed shot or 2 away from winning it all. I will take 2 more years with those type of opportunities in a heartbeat!

Winning in 2017 will cause a mass exodus which will hurt our chances in 2018, obviously. Failing to do so will increase our chances in 2018. It is a win-win. For instance, winning in 2017 would probably cause Green, WG, and maybe even PJ join Diallo, Knox, Richards, and JV in leaving. Without a title, I doubt we lose more than 1 (maybe none at all) of Green, WG, & PJ. Green would undoubtedly pull a Marquis Teague/Tyus Jones and go pro after winning a title in 2017 for instance.

I'm not "connected" or an "insider", but I follow recruiting as much or more than a lot of people that claim those titles despite being a casual fan. Plus, after seeing Calipari recruit for so many years, you start to pick up on "which eggs are in his basket" early in the game just by looking at who has already offered. He offers very few players which makes it easier to see where common interest is compared to coaches that offer damn near everyone.

All in my completely worthless opinion, as always.

Nice.

Only if you believe Durant's listed height. He is clearly around 7' to 7'1"

KD-Height.jpg

At the pre draft combine he was measured at 6'9" barefoot. So depending on what shoes he wears will depend on his height you see or camera angles. Cousins was measured at 6'9.5" barefoot.

6'9"? What is that? 7'1" when they announce you on the intercom to start an NBA game? Ha ha.

My idiot HS coach would add 3" to all his "big men" on the roster in an effort to intimidate the other teams. Being 6'7" was great until we had to play a team that started 2 guys that were 6'9" without having such help.

Giving up 5" to 2 players in the post attempting to guard them is one of the harder tasks I have attempted in life.

Defense wasn't too bad, but offense was freaking impossible. I think they both had 20 by halftime while I had 3 fouls and needed an oxygen tank. LOL
