Just ran into Bobby Hurley at the Hyatt Regency, very friendly. Seemed to like it that he was recognized, even if it was by a nobody from nowhere.

I still to this day think the sequence when UK was up 3 late in OT v Duke and Hurley hit that 3 was the back breaker. Hurley misses and UK rebounds its over.

As a cats fan born in 1990 im entirely unfamiliar with Hurley as a player at Duke and whether he was likeable or not. I am impressed with his small sample as a HC though.

If he does a good job at ASU I wouldn't have a problem if he were to take over when Cal leaves. I was impressed with his team he brought into Rupp last year. Wasn't it Buffalo? Now if it were Christian Laettner then hell no.

Hurley has shown to be a pretty good coach so far. Could definitely see him doing well the next few years at ASU and then taking another step up. Not sure that step would be to a Duke/UK level school, but I guess it's possible.

Honestly, I could see him coaching at UK before I could see him at Duke. He just doesn't seem to give off the Dukie vibe to me for some reason. Not saying I'd necessarily want him (at this point), but UK could (and has) done worse.
