Wonder why no big program has taken a chance on him? He did well at Nebraska and he's only 54.

In addition to him apparently being difficult, his stint as the defensive coordinator at LSU was a total disaster on the field too. I can’t imagine that helped his cause.

Couple comments about Bo Pelini, who I respect quite a bit.

- He's a Youngstown, OH guy like Coaches Stoops and Marrow. All three gentlemen attended Cardinal Mooney HS around the same time. Pelini hired Coach Marrow while at Nebraska. Coach Marrow left Big Red for Big Blue after end of 2012 season. Rest is history. By the way, a close friend of mine, who currently lives near Belton, TX, also attended Cardinal Mooney a few years before Stoops, Marrow and Pelini, and remembers all three gents very well. He says they were all tough competitors growing up.

- Pelini served as DC under Les Miles when LSU lost to UK, under Coach Brooks, and won 2008 BCS National Championship game against Ohio State, his alma mater.

- Is Bo a politically incorrect ass? Yes, definitely. I'd likely argue with him on an hourly basis. And continue arguing with him after hours. Regardless, I respect the man.

- Pelini went 66-27 over 8 seasons while head coach at Nebraska. He also served as Nebraska winning coach during 2003 Alamo Bowl after Frankie Solich got fired. His official record at Big Red = 67-27.

- Recent history: Bo took Youngstown State to the 2016 FCS Championship game literally on Nebraska's dime. From what I understand, his YSU pay was deducted from his Big Red settlement. Fun Fact: Jim Tressel served as Youngstown State University President at the time, and still is as far as I know.

- His 2020 season at LSU under Ed Orgeron was a qualified disaster. In his defense, I'll state Pelini seems more of a hands-on DC and lost his edge on the younger players' buy-in aspect.

Bo blew some big games in the Big-10. But he never lost like Scott Frost has. He's stated in a podcast I referenced earlier that he'll probably return to the NFL.
