Joe Hall. Ed Jucker. Gary Williams. Top of my head....

Ed Jucker?

As head coach at Cincinnati, won back to back NCAA championships...followed the next season by a runner-up.

All AFTER Oscar Robertson had graduated.

Left after five seasons. He said the job pressure was affecting his health and his family (his young children didn't recognize him).

His record was 113-28.

His NCAA Tournament record was 11-1.

(And as a bonus, he recruited Sandy Koufax from Brooklyn to UC.)

He's won a national championship. The ends the discussion.
Sorry no it doesn't . He sucks in the tourney normally. Like he is extra extra bad in the tournament. Bradley. Bucknell.VCU.Stanford.WSU ( when they weren't very good ) . NOrthern Iowa . He sucks in the Dance.Period. He is not a great coach . He is good and any top team not in the top 10 would be happy to have him but he is not an elite level coach but since he wins his conference every year it is overlooked. Cal for example has never had that type of loss , at least at UK and his last 3-4 years at Memphis. I didn't follow him much before that but Cal is $$ in March and is a good for a elite 8 or sweet 16 at worst.

Would you object to any of those being in the hall of fame?

Joe B hall is light years better than Self. He get a bad wrap because he followed Rupp and Knight / Wooden overshadowed his image to an extent. If Joe is not in, Self doesn't need to be in. Title, 3 final fours, NIT title when it meant something is better than Self.

I didn't say that, I said it ends the discussion. You can't say the guy never done anything when he's clearly won it all.

I know you're gonna say it doesn't matter, but imo it does. He won that title by sheer luck and it's probably the result of the biggest choke job in NCAA history. They needed Memphis to do everything wrong including turning the ball over and missing nearly every free throw in the last 3 minutes to overcome an 8 point deficit. He also needed god like shooting from deep to seal it. He got extremely, extremely lucky.

Self doesn't really belong in a "real" HOF discussion but on planet earth, he will be.

Three tittles should be minimum for HOF otherwise it is watered down
I disagree. Calipari only has one title and he is in the HOF. Larry Brown took one team to a championship, and he deserves to be in the HOF as well.

Edit: Brown coached 1 team to a NCAA national championship, not two.

Owes all of his accolades to Memphis missed free throws & corrupt big12 officials. Reflects poorly on college basketball allowing this schmuck into the hall of fame. Absolutely atrocious.
