I remember Avery's name being bantered about after Billy Clyde got axed, before we landed Cal. He would have probably done pretty well here, would not have recruited as well as Cal, but would have done well.

Guy can coach there isn't a doubt.

If he was our coach hearing him talk for years and years would eventually just piss me off having to endure it.

It was a solid win. Nothing pretty about it, but I'm happy with where we are right now. 6-2 with losses to Xavier and Dayton; wins over Notre Dame, Wichita, and Clemson. We play Oregon coming up on Monday, so there's another chance to get a win.

We're going to feel the loss of Dazon Ingram as the season moves on. He was developing quickly into our best all-around player even as a freshman. I don't know that we'll be able to win enough this year to make the NCAAs, but if we are 10-2 heading into conference play it's a possibility we could sneak in.

I think next year we have a chance to be really good when you consider what will be coming back and some of the recruits AJ has added so far.

It will be a bigger win when the Tide beats Clemson for the National Championship early next year.
