I see that they will allow people to line up for camping the first day at 5 AM. I've never done this before but am planning to do so this year so I'm a rookie at this. If you can't be there until several hours later will you be placed far back in line or do you recommend getting there by 5 AM with others ready to be the first let across the street? Any other advice you can give for a first timer would be appreciated. Thanks.

Get there on Monday and sit across the street that is the best advice I can give you and run fast with your tent and stake your claim. I did the campout for several years and hated how rude people were for that first 5-10 minutes everyone had to find a spot. After that though it is a great time. However, because of how crazy it is I will just try to get tickets some other way.

Agree with what twindaddy said, can get really intense first few minutes but afterwards is a blast.

Come as early as possible.

Think of a midnight madness clothing sale at Macy's, where everything is 90% off, and you see women killing each other to get that great buy first. That's the way the first 10 minutes will be.
