I wanted to see what everybody thinks about this possibility. The chances of it, but also how good they'd be. Personally I think if this happened we'd be not only the best team in the country, but have a chance to have a similar regular season run as last year. So here's what's up. Say we get Brown and Murray both. This would be my lineup, and probably the probable lineup.

Tyler Ulis
Jamal Murray
Jaylen Brown
Alex Poythress
Skal Labissiere

Then Briscoe, Mulder, Mathews, and Lee coming off the bench. We'd have everything you could want. Depth, 3pt shooting, inside scoring, defense, rebounding, shot blockers, everything.

Honesty, that's a better team than we had this year. Doesn't mean they'd accomplish the same because we caught a lot of breaks through the season. But it's a quicker, more athletic, well rounded team. This past year was made up of a bunch of very solid college players and one star in KAT. But We had a lot of lineups that were a little slow of foot defensively and we struggled rebounding at times because although we were big, we weren't overly athletic and bouncy outside of Lee who barely played and Poy who missed the entire season. WCS was a freak athlete but never really had a feel for the game and we often had 1 or 2 on the floor who simply couldn't score. We were huge but that ended up being a mismatch that hurt us when we played talented, athletic teams.

With that said, it shows what having a lot of solid guys that play for each other can do.

Exactly.

We have all the pieces with Murray and Brown. Cal wants a 7-man rotation, that would give us seven 5-stars to rotate in and out.

Starters
G Ulis- 5-star, top 20.
G Murray- 5-star, top 10.
F Brown- 5-star, top 5.
F Poythress- 5-star, top 10.
F Labissiere- 5-star, top 5.

Key Reserves
G Briscoe- 5-star, top 15.
F Lee- 5-star, top 20.

Bench
G Mulder- 4-star, JUCO All-American.
G Matthews- 4-star, top 60.
G Hawkins- 3-star.
F Willis- 3-star.

Murray and Ulis give us two elite shooters in our 7-man rotation. Brown, Briscoe, Poythress, and Labissiere are all good to decent shooters. We should be able to stretch the floor.

We will have 3-4 guys on the floor together all the time that can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim if teams aren't able to pack it in because of our shooters.

We really don't have a back to the basket offensive threat, but we didn't have one in 2011 or 2012 either.

That team could be scary good. Good shot at the Final Four and a title.

And honestly, a back to the basket game is overrated in college with how they let big guys like Cousins get beat to death I even the playing field when they touch the ball.

I don't believe Murray is going to reclassify.

Ulis
Briscoe
Brown
Poythress
Labissiere

That's my hope for the starting 5.

Then you have Hawkins and Matthews in there for foul trouble, defense(in case Ulis needs a break or gets in foul trouble or for giving Briscoe a breather in Hawkins case) Matthews can split time at the 2/3 because of his versatility. Lee and Willis are solid depth at the 4 and 5.

If you went straight up position by position your back ups look like this. That's not too shabby of a second 5. No, I'm not going to bring the "P" word in to this.

Hawkins
Mulder
Matthews
Willis
Lee

Briscoe is the better scorer. But with 2 scorers on the wing and a scorer at the 5 with a lob machine at the 4. You start Ulis with the year of experience and the facilitator mentality

You forgot Mulder when talking about the guards. He will play a lot more than either Matthews and most certainly Hawkins.

It remains to be seen if this team is comparable to last year's team. So thankful that the Cats will have veteran leadership in Poythress, Ulis, Lee, Willis and Hawkins. Those guys will be invaluable. If Jaylen Brown commits, I see a top ten team. Hard to gauge how good these guys will be until after they have played some games. Will they get to do any preseason tournaments this year?
