BBN needs to keep this evolving season in perspective:

Last year was a year of returning players, that lead to a dominant team. But that was far from the story with most of those guys were star-studded freshmen. We struggled GREATLY! I think our fanbase has forgotten that.

-Those CATS in 2013-14 finished 22-9.

-They entered the NCAA tournament as a #8 seed with a 24-10 record.

-They virtually beat NO ONE that was nationally ranked except for Louisville.

-The did not start playing their better ball until the SEC tournament.

-BUT they made a tourney run for the ages down an extremely tough road, all the way to the championship game.

We forget that don't we? Our fanbase was pulling our hair out, questioning Cal's ability to coach, & ready to throw in the towel. Do we really have to go through this again? WE WILL STRUGGLE! I don't know how good will can be or will be but I'll bet the farm this team is playing their best (whatever that is) by March.

Go through 2013-14 schedule & remember what it was like. Take a deep breath, & tell yourself: 'this will be a slow process'.

Our fan base is mostly fine but we have a small minority that troll Cal and the players with hate hoping to get reaction. I doubt they mean what they type, just looking for reactions to laugh at in their sick minds. Its a discussion board so a lot can be said that should really be ignored. It's just hard not to respond to idiotic posts.

Another more recent reminder. Duke couldn't win its ACC regular season championship or ACCT (they got spanked by ND). Then they rolled thru the NCAAs and got the hardware. It's ultimately only about those last six games for me.

UK lost 85% of their scoring and 78% of total rebounding from last year. That is huge!

This is a brand new team with some experience. Skal, Murray and Briscoe have no learning curve like Lyles, Booker, Towns and Ulis had playing alongside WCS, Johnson, Harrisons and Lee. They have to produce right away and what we are seeing is how ready they may or may not be.

It is all about March and getting ready for the next game. We all knew they would take some lumps this year. You can't lose 8 players and not have a drop in productivity. Cal will have this team in good shape by February.....these guys are in the process of becoming a team...

I've been around a long time & I've seen it all. They mean exactly what they say & the sad thing is we do not even get a glimpse of the worst part of our fanbase that never touches a keyboard.

I am sure you are right. I guess everyone has the right to their thoughts and opinions but to always think in the negative would make for a sad life (at least from my perspective) but like you I have been a fan for about 50 years and the last 6 years has been truly the most remarkable and fun.
