The other schools in the SEC love Stoops and Barney. The reason is obvious when your team has a fan base that never expects excellence and these new SEC coaches see in UK an easy win Does anyone on this board think that with Texas and Oklahoma coming into the SEC that your coach can’t make mistakes. With no burden on Stoops to produce these SEC schools know the University of Kentucky doesn’t take its football program serious or his ass would be on the hot seat. No one fears UK to be a legitimate threat to anyone. That’s what a 9 million dollar contract shows to the other SEC schools who have high expectations. These teams control the administration, the NIL network and all aspects of winning.

I do agree with this. Some radio personalities have said they don't care about the salaries. And then the very next breath say we can't buy them out so we're stuck with them. Can't lock us in to two Texas Am contracts.

The OP is 100% correct. People have been saying for years that he needs to go and this is just proof positive that they were right.

Not only is he responsible for the current contract problems in basketball and football, he is responsible for killing the coach's need to succeed.

Right now Cal and Stoops are on cruise control because they have it made. Neither has to worry about being "fired" so they just roll with the losses.

It's a sad but true fact that everyone is driven by something and for most people that drive is money and security. Give a person too much of either and they become lazy and underproductive.
