When I saw Monk didnt make it I just assumed that the United States found some immortal to play for their team instead of him. Was the only logical explanation. Now that I know that it is indeed a mortal child that was chosen over him I am rather outraged

The Pritchard and Giles picks don't make sense to me.

Monk is the best guard and possibly the best player in the class. Laughable he is not on this team.

Giles taking up a spot just to watch? Beyond dumb.

From this article: http://www.oregonlive.com/hoop-summit/index.ssf/2015/12/west_linns_payton_pritchard_sl.html

"All 12 players are top-ranked athletes for the class of 2016. The ESPN 100 lists Tatum second, Jackson third, Adebayo sixth, Fox seventh, Isaac ninth, Ferguson 10th, Fultz 12th, Langford 17th, Allen 19th, Bolden 20th, Gabriel 23rd and Pritchard 42nd. Scout.com ranks the players as such: Jackson second, Tatum third, Fox fourth, Fultz seventh Isaac ninth, Gabriel 10th, Bolden 12th, Ferguson 13th, Adebayo 15th, Allen 16th, Langford 19th and Pritchard 61st. And finally, Rivals.com lists Jackson first, Tatum third, Fox fifth, Adebayo seventh, Ferguson 12th, Fultz 13th, Isaac 14th, Bolden 16th, Gabriel 17th, Langford 18th, Allen 20th and Pritchard 51st."

Who is the odd one out? And why not Monk?

They needed a token white dude to round out the roster and/or wanted an Oregon commit to help local attendance?

I'm not much for conspiracy theories but Pritchard is an Oregon kid and Nike is the primary sponsor of the game and famously located in Oregon so.....I'm going to put two and two together and guess that his inclusion was requested by a certain major sports apparel company.

Ah, I see why now. He's signed to Oregon. Of course he would be invited to a Nike event in Portland, Oregon.

[eyeroll]
No being white has nothing to do with it.

They had teams before without any white dudes.

Boy o boy leaving out Monk is going to piss off certain people and raise eyebrows. This wont be the end of this imo

The Nike Hoop Summit always has a local kid in it. Monk should be on the team. Is Giles playing in a wheelchair?

For comparisons sake, here's Monk's rankings:
ESPN- 5th overall, #1 SG
247- 5th overall, #1 combo guard
Rivals- 6th overall, #2 SG
Scout- 6th overall, #1 SG

I can see why this was a tough call [laughing]

Lets get Bolden on board before the Hoops Summit because Giles still being on the team is probably so he and Tatum can keep recruiting Bolden if no decision is made by then.

This must be there thinking on why Giles is on the team...

But seriously, it is comical that Monk is not on the team.

Have you guys ever thought Monk did not ask to play in the game for some reason? The top ten guys are never all in this game.

I'm still pissed about Monk being left out in the cold....but there is another component to this and that is that USA basketball favors the guy's who have already been in the system playing for their country previously. However I don't know who was on the under 17 team a couple years ago.

Pritchart can ball. He reminds me of the Wisconsin guards from last year. I believe he was chosen because he is from Oregon so that will give the local fans something to cheer for.

Everyone of the duke commits made the team Lololol, monk is probably the best guard in this class...I don't really see another player I would of took over him on the roster..

Is Gabriel from U.S.A? I remember he is from another country? His picture is different from others.

Gabriel moved to US when he was a kid, became a citizen about 4 years ago.
