I know it is highly unlikely but can you imagine if Bamba were to sign and Bam were to come back. That would be an unreal frontcourt - probably the best we have had during Cal's tenure. They both could switch and cover all 5 positions. We finally will have depth in the front court - an obvious weakness this season.

A starting lineup that looks like this (I am assuming we don't get Knox but I hope I am wrong)...

PG - Green
SG - Diallo
SF - Washington or Vanderbilt
PF - Bamba
C - Bam

Bench

G - Alexander
F - Vanderbilt, Gabriel
C - Richards, SKJ, Humphries

Add one more guard and we will be incredibly deep and multi-dimensional. Hard to replace guys year in and year out but thankful to have a Coach like Cal that truly reloads and can get us excited about each year's new players.

I don't expect Bam back but if he returns I don't see Bamba here. Hump, Richards, Washington/Vaderbily, SKJ and potentially Bamba. That's more than enough front liners to work with.

I believe that if Bam comes back, Briscoe will too.

G Briscoe
G Diallo
F Washington
F Bamba
F Adebayo

Looks similar to the starting five for 2015. Two pretty big guards in the backcourt (Twins, Briscoe/Diallo), huge 3 man (Lyles, Washington), a defensive minded shotblocking mobile big man at the 4 (WCS, Bamba), and a big, strong offensive-minded big inside (KAT, Bam).

Our bench would likely be Green, Vanderbilt, and Richards. Maybe Gabriel, if he returns. I don't see Hump coming back with Bam, Bamba, and Richards on the roster.

I think we have a good chance at a title with Briscoe/Bam/Bamba in the lineup.

Biggest question mark would be shooting. Add Johnson and we take care of that problem. Everything else looks exceptional. We should be able to dominate the boards. Shouldn't turn the ball over much. Should be a defensive juggernaut (Briscoe, Diallo, Bamba, and Bam are all great defenders).

I would love to see that team on the floor for us next year. I would be excited again for another run.

No Bam and Briscoe and I am going to be a little more reserved with us heading into battle with five Freshmen starters most likely.

The way Bam ended the season, I can only imagine how much more of a monster he'll be with another year under his belt.

Also, he'd be moving to the 4 and will have much smaller defenders on him and probably less double teams.

IF humphries returns next years, he will be playing 20+ minutes a game no matter who is on the roster.

Everyone's worried about Bam and I'm more worried about Hump and Bamba. Bam was ok at UK, would definitely improve defensively but there wouldn't be many changes in his offensive game. Hump ended the season for uk better than Bam did by miles.

Unfortunately that's how I see it too. I do believe that it will be Bam or Bamba though. If Bam goes then we will land Bamba.

Bamba would play the 5. Bam would play the 4

Bam impresses a lot of you on here a lot more than he does me. He has poor footwork weak hands. and he is a slow thinker. He is an excellent athlete, but is grossley inept at the skills part of the game.

Bam ended better easily and fresh to soph is a bigger jump than soph to Jr. Bam would actually have more help in the post than his season when he had no help (Hump included). He would be open more and more mid range shots. Hump had one good game in the last game of the season, The games before that are included in his season

I don't agree on Hump at all.He had the one good game against North Carolina all season.I like the kid and all but he made me nervous when he had the ball and never seemed to hold on to it.One good game doesn't make his season.

Do you really believe this or am I missing some sarcasm?

Bam is the most overrated blue chip big we've had at UK aside from Skal. He's got zero offensive game aside from an occasional dunk, guards have no fear of him and attack at will, he offered zero rim protection, and his hands are bricks. He's game is severely lacking in traffic. Hump was the better player by the end of the year. Grabbed key rebounds and had multiple tools.

Bam is huge yes. He dunks yes. Is he a bum no.

I'd rather have Bamba and Hump Than return Bam.

Would be a nice frontcourt but not within miles of Davis/Jones and I'm not certain how strong a contender it would be for second place. There is certainly some potential there, but up against Cousins/PPat and Towns/WCS? I'd certainly take it though.

Not sure if serious. Hump had 1 decent game. If you mean....never mind

Hump has multiple tools?I must have missed them.Amazing you bash Bam who was pretty solid all year but praise Hump who had one good game all season.

Hump is a system kid. Cal`s Defense cant have kids that cant get put on an island. He face guards and switches on every screen. Inevitably Hump would end up on a guard at some point and he does not have the lateral speed to match up. Against UNC they were so big Cal had to go to more size. He actually did a great job because he was popping those shots after the pick. Hump would do himself a favor to move to a team that plays a matchup zone...

as an aside anyone that says Hump had a better year than Bam is not a correct statement imo.. he had one nice game.

Bam and Bamba would be awesome but AD, MKG and T. Jones will always be the best front court during Cal's tenure. If it get's better than them I'd be shocked.
