Back up a dump truck filled with 100s to Brad White's house

A buddy of mine who is a huge LSU fan texted me last night if I knew of any good DC they could hire. I told him that they couldn't have ours. White consistently puts a solid defense on the field. If he had LSU's talent every year, they'd be a beast on defense.

He is a great DC
Given that we have finished TOP 15 nationally and Top three in the SEC in scoring and Total defense each of his non-Covid years here without a top 10 signing class, one must ask:

IS BRAD WHITE THE NATION’S TOP DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR??

Sure, even a blind hog might pitch those numbers one year out of ten, but doing it annually for half-a-decade . . . .?!?!?!

His next stop is a head coaching gig imo. Money isn’t going to be the issue. We pay our coordinators very well…Liam is the 5th highest paid OC and White is the 8th highest paid DC in college football.
I hope it's a good one too. Will Muschamp and Jeremy Pruitt can jump from coordinator to head coach at Florida and Tennessee. Brad White deserves a P5 shot instead of Ball State or MTSU.

Glad he ultimately gets his due from fans after the inevitable "we're too soft" but most fans still don't understand just how incredible he really is. Every year our scheme is entirely different, fit to our personnel. It's incredible.

Then there is the coverage. We play every coverage imaginable and often times have two different coverage on the same play, on different sides of the field.

Zone read - the play that used to eat us alive? He rendered it useless using a cross read.

UT is still his kryptonite, but they were for everyone. Otherwise he really shuts down most everyone else. Of course teams get theirs here and there, but even then it's almost always a player breakdown

White has had chances to jump to the NFL or a HC gig. I am continually amazed year after year when he comes back. The only thing I can imagine is that Coach White is happy where he is, with the pay he's getting, and the success he's having.

I'm not going to put it past White that he's just found his peace. He's found a niche. He gets paid well to kick ass in the SEC with a coach whom he respects and who respects him. There's something to be said for how well Stoops, in general, is able to create team and coaching chemistry.

The UT thing is something UK just has to get a handle on. CATS have had enough talent the past few years to get on Top of the Vols and take control of them like they have against the Gators

Agree except last year. Last year was a tough matchup for us regardless. Their offense is tough when there is an experienced QB that makes good decisions. Their offense takes advantage of cheap tricks and the (so far) reluctance of officials to throw some flags.

Georgia really hammered them last year so we'll see if that gave us some blueprint. Plus Milton is a major drop off. I'm still not convinced he'll be the starter when they come to town

If we can turn Georgia over a few times and play mistake free on O; UK can win as we have the guys up front on both sides of the football to compete with Jawja.

I bet this offseason we brought in some consultants and analysts who can diagram out and explain the Briles system. Or some guys who in the past had the best results slowing it down a bit.

I love White, but Mark Stoops is the reason our defense is as good as it is. They work really well together.

The defensive coaching is about as good as it can be in my opinion...fun to watch.

If you are Southern Cal, why wouldn't you offer Brad White $3M a year to be DC? Or $4m?

Literally the only downside is he lacks the magnetic media/donor personality of someone like coen and others. He probably won't get anyone excited. That's jmo

Stoops is great for sure but imo it's clear white took defense to another level. Stoops is part of that too, but white is a difference maker.

I'm just going to enjoy Coach White while we have him. He's 41 years old, which is right around the age most coaches get their first head coaching gig. I hope he sticks around and maybe even succeeds Stoops, but I'm not going to fault him if he wants to take a shot at a head coaching job soon.

College football was/is full of coordinators passing on HC jobs. John Chavas was a masterful DC at TN, LSU and TAM who passed on several HC jobs. Norm Chow was another who did eventually become HC at Hawaii late in his career but bombed badly and returned to OC. Our own Eddie Gran passed on HC offers to remain as a coordinator. Obviously the money is life changing but some guys don't want the responsibility a HC job brings, they'd rather just coach...and that's alright too. I don't doubt White will have offers, what he decides will be most interesting.

Just insane talk. If, if,if. UK on both offense and defense is a reaction team. To be proactive you have to take chances and that wins game. It may lose a few but it also make your team unpredictable. The first 10 minutes of tonight’s was UK trying to run the ball against a team that wanted you to pass and being stubborn got UK down 10 points by trying to run. Think about this. What in the hell was Stoops thinking to run a QB STEAK FOR A FIRST DOWN WITH Leary. perfect time to not be predictable and throw a 3 yard pass but not UK. That gave UT a short field and a 10 point lead. In hindsight, the game.
