Aveion Chenault Fredrick Douglas?

I think Frederick Douglass had 7 players sign D1 scholarships! Every year they are loaded.

Interesting:
Chenault made his latest visit to Michigan on July 30 for the annual BBQ at The Big House, where he was joined by Lowe, who committed four days later. Taking part in workouts with strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert and wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy were among the trip’s highlights.

“He said the visit went good,” McPeek said. “Obviously, we’ve been up there a few times before but he said (the barbecue) went good. He posted some pictures in the uniform, which was great. As I said, everyone in the nation should be recruiting him.”

McPeek is building up contact with Bellamy and has a great relationship with area recruiter Steve Clinkscale, who led the way in securing a pledge from Lowe. Clinkscale’s sons play for Frederick Douglass and NCAA rules allow him to watch Frederick Douglass games and events. That unique tie has helped with establishing a connection with Chenault.

“(Clinkscale and Bellamy) have been doing great with it being so early in the process for Aveion,” McPeek said. “Michigan offered him based on what they saw in the spring. I think it’ll be an ever-evolving thing.”

I don’t know the kinship, but here’s one of my favorite plays in UK history.

The reason Chris and others slid on their arses: it was like 25 degrees in Cincy that day, and the endzones had so much ice, even with cleats, uncontrolled sliding was likely.

[PS, same game Al Baker broke an ankle, Badly!].

Young man is playing at the King of Bluegrass this week. Has incredible vertical and very quick. Thought sure he must be some relation to Chris, but nobody seems to know.

I think I was there that day. If I recall, that was probably the most exciting event of that day. Al Baker was supposed to be UK’s Hershel Walker, if I recall the hype correctly.

When they build the new Henry Clay HS, FD may lose their hold on Lexington.

Douglass arrival has trashed HC football and hampered Bryan Station for a couple of ef, eventhough they have recovered amazingly to become a 6A power the last few years. The tide will swing when FD will not have exclusive access to the Carter G Woodson Academy kids. Let’s see how the landscape changes
