I’m sure Marrow and Stoops have conversations with 2-3 Aub commits.

AD just resigned. He hired Harsin and I’m not sure Harsin makes it through the season.

Personally, I’d like to see Harsin go 10-2, beat Ala, then leave Aub! They have a hard time keeping multiple boosters from wanting to run the show.

The Stoops to Auburn speculation has already started.
Would be a smart move on CMS's part. I mean seriously. Why stay where you have a cushy contract that rewards you and auto-renews for winning seasons (at a university that has shown a lot of patience for your process) when you can instead get royally screwed by admin every day, have boosters hounding you, all the pressure in the world to beat the team coached by literally the best CFB coach in history every year, and be back in the coaching portal in 2 years?

Stoops would be a silly billy to stay.

They started rumors of Harsen having an affair with a young lady who came from Boise to fire after the season. HVent seen Stoops name mentioned, the only one I have actually seen has been Urban.

But after the buyout they just paid Gus, not sure they can fore this coach. But whoever they hire, if they do, needs to understand he has to beat Bama and UGA.

But this all falls on the Yella wood guy, I can't remember his name, but he is supposedly the one pulling the strings now.

So they fire Harsen for an affair and then go after Urban? Didn't he have that problem as well?

If Harsin had beaten Bama and UGA then his (alleged) affair would have been no issue whatsoever.

IIRC with the schedule rotation we get them at home next season. Hopefully they’ll continue to be in disarray……

Aub thinks they can get Vince Lombardi to be their next coach.

Seriously, they are to Alabama what Louisville is to UK. Sure, city schools will have some good seasons. But … they will always be 2nd in their own state. I understand their alumni and boosters wanting a top notch program. But, I’m guessing there are 2 types of coaches that would consider Aub. 1) Coach that wants his first try at big time football. IE … Harsin or a young coach coaching at a weak P5 school. 2) Older coach that desires one last run. IE … Mack Brown type.

Auburn football is crazy town right now.

Auburn should be called the grass is greener over there, instead of the tigers, war eagle, plainsmen, etc.

Allbarn coaches come with an expiration date. Some expire sooner than others. They don't have any problem finding great coaches though. That's why they paid Malzhan a gazillion dollars to leave so they could hire a mastermind like Harsin...

Off topic but do you post on swvasports.com fb board?

Auburn implodes once a decade or so. They have high volatility, but also lots of money.

Allen Greene's resignation probably means Bryan Harsin is on even thinner ice than before.

Just conjecture, but I could imagine some of these current War Eagle commits maybe decommitting in the fall.

K, the obvious question: Are there 2 or 3 Auburn commits that we were in on?
Yes. A few summer commits were between UK and Aub. We’ll see what happens to their class, but I expect major upheaval. Next coach will load up with transfers because of new rule about 7 additional transfers.

That job does setup coaches for generation changing wealth. Gus received $21 mil + to leave!
Well, if it's all about the Benjamins, fair enough. If it has anything to do with your legacy as a college football coach...

They are all being paid a fortune if among better teams in FBS. I include us in that group now. It is larger than the CFP regulars.

I watched Wilky Denaud play on Thursday night. In fact, I've watched Wilky several times since his freshman year. He was listed as 6'4 225 as a freshman. He's now listed at 6'4 245, so he hasn't grown much at all, and I'm not sure how much weight he can add to his frame. He plays with his hand in the dirt at DE, and he'll need to add some serious weight to do that in the SEC. I don't know if he has the speed to play jack though. He's truly a tweener. Love Wilky's demeanor though. He has a big motor and gives you everything he's got.

Well you do know if it weren't for kids that couldn't get in Bama, UF, UGA, and GT AU would have about 1200 students. Fallback school for 3 states. So yeah. Urban would be their guy. Remember the jet to Louisville to hire Petrino?

The entire 1200 would be veterinary school students

They had a coach that beat Alabama 3 times in 8 years, which is better than pretty much anybody else has done.
And Malzahn just beat UF in a bowl too.

Auburn is an example, like Tennessee, of a football program that is still heavily influenced by a gang of rowdy, wealthy boosters. There is no way to regulate that kind of thing if the school itself does not appreciate the necessity of controlling its own Department of Athletics. As a condition of taking the job in Tuscaloosa, Nick Saban got Alabama's wealthy boosters including Paul Bryant Jr. out of his football program right off the top. Barnhart got the crazy boosters out of UK's Department of Athletics, and you can still witness their endless anger and retribution right here on this website. Until other schools like Auburn and Tennessee take that big step, their major sports programs will always be dirty because the rogue boosters are always pushing the envelope. That's what happened in Louisville, and they are in the process of doing it all over again.
