Look at the schedule. Does anyone really see a potential loss before then?

I don't. UK is going to be double digit favorites every game, 15 or more points in most of them. UL has managed to play better in Rupp against Cal's teams than you would expect, but not enough to actually win any of the games. I don't see how this year is going to be better for them (it's likely to be worse).

If UK goes into LSU undefeated and #1, the hype around that game is going to be crazy. Even if LSU is disappointing up to that point (and with Johnny Jones, that's always distinctly possible), just the fact that they have Ben Simmons will drive a huge amount of anticipation for that game.

I agree. No game before then really even scares me, although a west coast trip to UCLA with crooked west coast officiating makes me think that game will be closer than some on here think. OSU on a neutral court is another possible tougher game, but no...no I cannot convince myself we lose to any team between now and then.

Another question is...will LSU lose a game before @Vandy the game before UK? They have a pretty weak ass schedule OOC just eyeballing.

The LSU ticket office will start selling tickets to this game on 11/30. I'm sure it will be a sell out. Buy early!

I'm curious what everyone elses thoughts are on this? Anyone think we lose pre-LSU?

The December schedule is tougher on paper then it really is. UCLA, OSU, and U of L are all down and unranked. However the latter two may be ranked when uk plays them.

Interesting how cal plays Simmons, who he rotates on him as the game goes.

UofL down? you must not have visited the uofl boards of late. I rarely do anymore myself but took a peek there the other day. UK was one of the teams that was vastly overrated this early in the season and many there believe they will win at Rupp. Others believe it will be a game but ultimately corrupt arena will win out in the end keeping the better team from winning

I think we will match up like this:

Ulis vs. Patterson
Briscoe vs. Blakeney
Murray vs. Quarterman
Lee vs. Simmons
Labissiere vs. Victor

I think they bring Hornsby off the bench for instant offense. Victor is their most talented big besides Simmons and probably starts once he is eligible.

Their top 6 or 7 are not too shabby and at their place we likely struggle.

I have said all along that @LSU would be our first loss.

Losses:
@LSU
@A&M
@Vandy
@KU

Four regular season losses.

Arizona St is decent, Ohio St is decent, UL even is decent. Any of those COULD be losses. But, I wouldn't pick any of them to beat UK.

Looking at the schedule, none of those teams really scare me. It will be interesting to see how we react to a true road game at UCLA. They are down right now but Pauley will be rockin with the Cats coming to town. I could see Tony Parker having a big game and keeping it close for a short while due to his size and strength. Dude's averaging 17 pts and 17 rebounds through two games albeit against weak competition.

It will take more than a "descent" team to even think about beating the Cats.

It will take at least a very good team and maybe a great team to pull it off (even away from Rupp).

This team is special already and will get more and more special as the season progresses.

I'm with op I think there is a very good chance that we go into LSU undefeated.
