BS! Cal said on the post game they told the players which players not to leave and to make drive to the basket. That comes from scouting. The players just didn't do it. You're dumber than you sound if you think they don't scout or teach the players what to do.

Not sure why some are so confused as to how this works. Cal has explained it time and time again.

Cal and the staff spend endless hours watching tape on and scouting the other team. They just don't bog down the players with hours of game tape. When he says "we" don't watch hours of tape and try to focus more on ourselves, he's talking about the players, not the staff.

After the Coaches watch the tape, they put together a 10-20 minute highlight of the other team's strengths and weaknesses, and that's what the players watch and focus on.

Yeah, it was Pearl's coaching that had the Auburn players hitting just about every three pointer they threw up in the second half, regardless of how well they were defended. Good observation.

Don't make fun of the handicapped, Robic scouts the hell out of other teams, he reports to coaches, they watch game film and actually prepare. Listen to Cal in the pre game sometime. He knows what the other team is capable of

We scout teams. They have a scouting report for each team they play. They prepare and also go thru game day walk thru going over our opponents stuff.

What they don't do is get bogged down by watching a lot of film as a team. Cal uses John Woodens philosophy of worrying more about how we play vs how the other team plays. I find it hilarious that this is never brought up unless we lose then people come out of the woodwork saying Cal doesn't scout the opponents or watch film.

Man, just think what his record would be if he watched film and actually scouted his opponents. Bet he would never lose a game.
