I thought UM had a real shot, but I thought he'd end up at UK as the day went on. Cal makes no sense. Worst coach of the 4 schools. Least amount of exposure. Least amount of talent. Avg conf. Great school and area of the country. But that's about it. Just a weird recruitment.

Same here. Oregon, Stanford, ucla, zags...I could name 20 schools west of the Rockies that i watched at least one of their games last year, but not Cal. Not on purpose, just can't think of one time they were on.

Bennett went Number 1 so scouts saw him , scouts will definitely watch Cal play. I'm going to take a wild guess and say Brown cares more about NBA scouts WatchIng him than UK fans watching him.

But...where you play college ball actually does really matter, no matter how good you are coming out of high school. Some kids waste a year or 2 of development by playing for a coach that doesn't know how to get top elite kids to understand how much harder they must work & how much harder they must play than they have in AAU circut & HS where everything has been easy.
Up until this point these kids have been playing cheesy AAU & HS ball. Calipari could've been a tremendous help for Jalen in that area & defensive development.
