This is when things really get funny, as Iona expects the same man who was directly responsible for 8 of 64 NCAA violations as a graduate assistant at Hawaii; who committed adultery when he had sex on a table at a restaurant with the wife of his equipment manager; ran a program in which on-campus parties were thrown for recruits and players in dorms where strippers and prostitutes were paid to “entertain”; had a national championship vacated; and was at the center of the FBI’s “pay-for-play” investigation into the sport,” to address this suitably?

Iona must be run by Jack Asses to hire a scumbag like Pitino a show cause order is hanging over
His head
I will laugh uncontrollably if Iona has to fire Rick before he coached a game[roll]

Iona doesn't care....they want to win basketball games. Like every division I school, winning is most important. Some DI schools try to maintain integrity in the process, some couldn't care less.

I want to see write ups on Miller, Self, Wase and others...
You know ones that actually were caught on wiretap paying for players...
It's amazing how much time the NCAA has spent on Pitino

Good article, other than the columnist using it to make a statement about racial inequality. Combining the race issue with the Iona/Pitino story is a real stretch. SMH

I may be in the minority but I am ready to let the Pitino stuff go.

Let the guy move on.

It doesn't exactly look good for us when we are constantly ripping on his previous decisions or lack of institutional control and he was our coach at one point.

I guess what I am saying is if I think about Hawaii and Louisville, it makes me think about Boston and Providence and us and quite frankly I do not want to think about that.

Yes some schools don’t care about cheating just look at the Jailhawks, every year for the last five at least there has been some sort of issue at that school. Look at L$U coach CAUGHT ON TAPE making offers to pay recruits , and it was exposed on national TV no less , did they fire that cheating ass little scummy bastard ? Zone is no better Miller is just as dirty. Ole Honest Roy got off by spending twenty million dollars of tax payer money. The Rat faced bastard at Dook has lots of skeletons in his closet , the only reason the NCAA won’t look is because ESPN has deemed him and that program for sainthood for the last twenty years .

I think you don't want to think about it.

The NCAA Letter said exactly what we already knew from what came out earlier. Literally nothing new. Yet Iona says Pitino was vetted thoroughly and they're shocked? UL and Pitino both say they'll fight certain allegations they dont agree with, after essentially admitted these things happened earlier?

I'd say somebody has been reading UNC's playbook on beating the NCAA! This is EXACTLY the scenario they used after publically admitting to bogus classes for 20 years and then frightening the NCAA into temporary blindness.

Everybody get out your checkbooks and buy a little justice! Mark Emmert is running an "end of the NCAA" special this year only. LSU, Arizona, Kansas ... jump on board! We've got a "BOGO" going thru the summer!
