Always find it interesting how this excites people. I’m rooting for every team in our league to go undefeated in the non-conference.
It doesn't excite me, but it always amuses me because people here seem to think getting upset at home by a mid major is somehow a uniquely Cal thing. It literally happens to everyone. People here still bitch about Evansville like Cal killed their puppy or something.
Every blue blood loses games they should win. Every blue blood loses to mid majors. Every blue blood gets upset in the first round as a top 4 seed eventually. That's just college basketball, especially in 2023.
I’m usually the same but Vandy beat UNC-Greensboro Tuesday night and our fans were freaking out. I was trying to explain, that’s a damn fine basketball team and we won a tough game.
Vandy is our Tyrin Lawrence and our starting center and backup center so any win is a good win right meow.
Geez, got lucky betting Vandy -120 vs. those guys. Didn’t even know they played Arky yesterday.
I know we knock Rupp for cupcake games, but Bud Walton looked like a ghost town when I turned that game on.

So now Kentucky is measuring itself based on what happens to Arkansas. Wow!!
I don't think we measure Kentucky in regards to it. If we flame out in the 1st weekend of the tournament, no one is going to look back on the season and be glad that Arkansas lost to that 1 team in November.
But, I think for a team that we're going to be fighting for the SEC title--I'm happy to see them struggling early.

Is UNC Greensboro pretty good or was this a total crapping the bed job vs a bad team for Arkansas?
UNC-G is 98 on Kenpom, but I'm sure beating Arkansas is most of that.

Good for you but not me I root against most of them especially teams like Arkansas. F them.
That could mean UNC-G played amazing defense and Arkansas couldn't get good looks.
It could mean Arkansas took a bunch of wide open 3's and missed them all.

Seems like the classic trap game, UNC-G is in that group who could win their tourney and be a first round scare for someone in the 12-5 type game.

Nope. But the quicker people realize that sometimes upsets just happen the more happy they'll be. No coach avoids them.
I watched UNC Greensboro when they were at Vandy on Tuesday and they looked pretty good in person. They have a legit PG who had 26 and a legit Post who had 24. The rest of the guys can play as well, very athletic and skilled. Not your old school mid major.
Are they a top 25 team, probably not but they look like a top 75 team for sure and will likely win the SoCon. They’re very dangerous, lots of good shooters and athleticism. They lack a ton of height, probably their only major flaw.
Vandy played very well to win. Ezra “Filet” Manjon had 24, 6, and 4 and we won 74-70 and a tough game.
