Arkansas 61, Missouri 60 - Final

Re: Arkansas at Missouri

Arkansas sucks on the road. Fortunately other than @UK and @Ole Miss their road schedule remaining includes @MSU, @AU, @FL and @SC.

If they can go 3/6 on the road the rest of the day they are doing well. There is only one guaranteed loss on there at UK, but other than that, doable for a poor road team.

Re: Arkansas at Missouri

Until you're about to lose to the second worst team in the league.

Arky fouls Missouri with under 4 seconds left. 2 foul shots, Mizzou down 1.

Re: Arkansas at Missouri

MIke Anderson is possibly the worst coach in SEC history and i mean that . freaking has 3 sure fire pros and a great offensive player in Madden as well and always loses games like this . They ended up winning b/c the mizzou player choked at the line but still.

Re: Arkansas at Missouri

Missouri chokes. Misses both FT's. Then they don't foul after the Arkansas rebound. Hogs win 61-60.

Re: Arkansas at Missouri

That's the essence of chocking. Mizzou's 75% FT shooter misses 2 FTs down 1 with 3 sec left.

UK is going to absolutely pound Missouri (again) and Alabama (again) next week..and UK is also going to trash Arkansas later in the year..I can't wait..lol

With the talent they have they should have beaten Missouri easily, even in Columbia. Let's face it the Tiger's aren't very good this year. Says the UK fan as we get ready to go there next. Who knows we might have another narrow escape as well. That' life on the road in the SEC. If our steak is going to end I think it comes in the 4 game stretch where we play at Florida, LSU, and UT. It's not like great UK teams haven't lost in those places before.

Who's the 3rd? Portis obviously is a lottery pick and Qualls is fringe

ball don't lie, Clarkson flopped and got the call. Agree about Mike Anderson being the worst, and he seemed like a decent coach at UAB and Missouri, wow do his teams choke now. Hard to believe some of these SEC teams play UK like they do and then play so differently every other game

I think most people over the age of 18 could name 50 worse SEC coaches than Mike Anderson.

Also, I see one NBA player on Arkansas' roster. Who are the other two?

Don't you have studying to do or a coin collection to polish?

Just to add a little perspective here. While his first two teams were terrible on the road (like worst coach in the league bad as someone said), in the last 11 road games his teams are 6-5. Pretty respectable road record. Go and look at road records for NCAA Tournament teams. I doubt if they are above .500. If they are it is close. Just saying. It is still a valid criticism at the time, but it is gradually becoming less and less valid. During that same span Kentucky is 8-3 in the last 11. That is for a Final Four team + one of the best teams in the one and done era this season. In the SEC road games going back to last season: Kentucky 8-4, Arkansas 5-7. So there is a difference. It is obvious that Kentucky is an elite program and again we are talking about a Final Four team and the runaway NC favorite vs a decent to good basketball team the last 2 years in Arkansas. He is not the worst coach in the SEC. That is an absurd statement. He may be the worst recruiting coach in the SEC though. That is a huge complaint for me. Year 4 and we still do not have a guard that can penetrate and dish at will. Have not had a alpha guard here in quite some time. And we do not have 3 NBAers on this roster. Tell me who they are? Portis is a no-brainer. Qualls? While I love Qualls, he is one dimensional. Great athlete/dunker and a great spot up, feet set shooter. Don't get me wrong that is valuable, but if you box him out and play halfway decent defense he will not get good shots. At all. Terrible off the bounce (zero handles) and sub par quickness laterally on defense. Qualls will not be drafted before late second round and if then he will only have a cup of coffee in the NBA if those other areas do not improve drastically. There is no one else close to being a legitimate NBA player on this team. They are good players, but not NBA material.

Ridiculous post. We won on the road when the highest scoring duo in the SEC went 9/31 for the game. I'd say that is pretty good. I would have loved to win that game by 15 like we should, but if you had told me that those two would shoot 29% and the team would shoot 60% from the line I would have said we lose no matter who we are playing on the road. We will be back in the Top 25 come Monday....watch. If this team ever decided to play a lick of defense it would be a Top 15 team. Ifs and buts though, right? And at this point in the season they are what they are on defense most likely. However, what they are is a 15-4 team (that has had 2 bad weeks out of a 9 week season), 3-3 on the road (4-3 road/neutral), will creep into the Top 20 of the RPI, more than likely back in the Top 25 in the polls, and a team with zero bad RPI losses at the moment. That is a solid NCAA Tournament team with that resume (6-9 seed as of today).

Ark is going to be a tourney IMO. Not sure about Anderson yet. Maybe Ark was expecting him to be another version of Nolan Richardson.

Rpi Is a joke, Kansas is 2 in that measure. Arky is like 45 in Pomeroy and a clear bubble team

Wonder what Temple's is?

RPI is a measure. It is not THE measure you are correct. But again it is one of the measures they looks at, along with other rankings like KP, combined with actual results (W/L), eye test, head to head, and just plain are they a top 68 team (human factor). As of now they are a no-brainer in the tournament.

And really that KP ranking is 43 simply due to the defensive efficiency rating (which is horrid), but at some point common sense has to dictate that while they are not good defensively, they are winning and have no "bad losses" yet by anyone's resume analysis that goes into projecting the field.

Yes they're in as of now probably. Had they lost they would be out. That guy choking the FT was mighty enjoyable for me as a KU alum ill say that

No one is going to confuse Mike Anderson for Izzo or Bob Knight when it comes to Xs and Os, but the guy saying he is the worst coach in SEC history simply isn't looking around the league RIGHT NOW. Johnny JOnes is HORRIBLE. Rick Ray is bad. Andy Kennedy is dicey. Kim Anderson has proven that he can take a good basketball school and go 7-12.

Anderson is Nolan Richardson Jr. HE's not a great coach, but he's not horrible. Just can't seem to win on the road.
