....players? I sure hope so, even though it's much more difficult.

I wasn't sure if last year was a fluke, since Pope came in so late, and because we seemed to recruit as importantly to a team fit and not just rankings or talent. I hope it's not a completely obsolete method, but it may prove to be with pay-for-play.

I think we are. That's what Mark Pope wants to do. He's not just trying to grab the highest ranked recruits; he's trying to get guys who fit what he's trying to do and will fit in with the team concept.

I’d rather see a team of under rated dudes play together than a bunch of stud athletes that can’t commit to putting in the work to learn the fundamentals all day long. Seems like we’re headed for the right blend of both but even if not last year was a million times better to me than watching Cal fumble another number one recruiting class.

Cals problem the entire time he was here was not being able to develop a team, team. He had a bunch of players playing 1 on 1 5 ways. They didn’t work well together. The only time I can say I saw the team play like a team was in 2012 and 2014 when we made our run. And I credit Anthony Davis MKG Darius miller, and the vets TJ and Lamb with that much more than cal.

And in 2014 it finally clicked at the right time when cal “made adjustments and tweaked the team” which was basically Andrew Harrison looking to pass first before trying to be the showman. So, I mean maybe 2014 was the only time he actually coached and developed the team but I mean look at 2015. They won on sheer talent, length, and experience.
